" Cal Twomey saying AFL assistance with end of first round pick is now not as likely as once thought . But extra rookie spots likely. That would be a blow "

wtf? surely thats a pee take

Wouldn't be surprised. Joke of a comp

This is about essendons assistance package that they’ve applied for. Nothing to do with the compo you get if your top5 pick slides due to academy/fs picks.

Surely we’re asking for priority assistance too given our recent poor performance?

They may have missed out on the number 1 pick, but there's plenty of talent for Richmond to choose from in November's draft.

Sandringham AFL Draft prospect Albert MacGowan kicked a goal after the siren at Preston City Oval to send the Dragons into a preliminary final against Gippsland Power next weekend.

It is the second final in a row the Northern Knights have lost with the last kick of the game after losing in golden point last week.

Harry Van Hattum (Northern Knights)

Played as the secondary ruck in his last game of junior footy. Took a couple of grabs around the ground and got on top in the ruck, often taking it out of the ruck and looking for territory. With ball in hand, he was not at his best, but his tapwork was predictably brilliant and he was still one of the most important players.

Injury news
Top five prospects Arki Butler and Gus Teixeira are considered more likely to return in a fortnight if Sandringham reaches the Grand Final.

Butler ran laps before the games as he continues to recover from a collarbone injury.

Teixeira, meanwhile, is nursing a calf injury he has carried for much of the season.

George Dimer (Sandringham Dragons)

His first goal was vintage Dimer, coming forward to meet a groundball, gathering cleanly and quickly getting the ball onto his boot to kick the Dragons' opener. His decision making and execution throughout the day was usually on point, typically unselfish, and seized his moment in the last quarter with a big-time set shot goal.

HVH's season ended with his Knights getting bounced out in straight sets after topping the ladder at the end of the H&A.  This was another "nearly" performance, strong at stoppage but dropping marks he needed to take.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

After making his WAFL debut a month ago Heath Mellody has been in the bests every week as he continues to build his pick 1 campaign.  Yesterday he was strong with defensive pressure and had moments of poise and damage with the ball.

I think he's definitely in the mix for the bombers.  Can't see the Eagles passing on him if he's still there.

HVH looks good for me. Plays like a ruck rover.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

The more i delve into this draft it seems the more even it becomes from about pick 30 onwards. Nice draft to have our share of later picks imo.

I really like the idea of a unicorn ruckman, however over the journey so many clubs have been successful without a gun ruckman.

Cats for a long time, Lions 3 peat this year will have Fort winning 3 flags, he's a crab.
Nank god love him, won 3 flags with us as a battler type ruck, with no 2nd ruck for 2017.

So as pick 2, picking a unicorn ruck, I question whether its better draft strategy to use on a mid which as been the premiership reciple of having brownlow, norm smith medalists midfielders in finals and GF day. I'd prefer us going for best available mid. Going to trade / FA for best KP players and rucks.
Go Tigers!

I think Mellody has moved himself into the open pool pick one position. Has really made a statement in his month as a senior footballer.

Anyone heard about Gus Kennedy, captain of Dandenong Stingrays? Looks a bit of a late pick chance??

Would it be worth trading our end of first comp and 2nd rounder for a pick in the low teens?
