They currently have 11, 17, 23 and 24 as well as theirs and Sydney’s 1st rounders next year.

You can only use 2 picks but even 12 and 18 (picks after the Cochrane bid) are the equivalent of pick 4. They really don’t need to do much to make up the difference and considering they have 2 picks in the 20s and another 2 first rounders next season to offer in trades to move up their first 2 picks, I really don’t know where this idea that they will struggle to match comes from.
Has to be a way we can bend these wankers over. What do we want for pick 2 where are they likely to finish next year.

If Essendon who apparently hate Carlton more than us bid for Walker at pick 1 , and if Carlton want to trade their picks up to match for Walker, they won’t have a lot left in the cupboard in the first 2 rounds this year or next. That will do some serious damage.

Prob less worrying when you have walker. Dean. Jagga.

Id the bid is at one. And they keep 11.

Whats the highest pick they need to get?

Pick 1 = 3000

Pick 11 = 1205

So they’d need pick 5 (1795 points) to make up the difference. So defo harder if the bid comes at 1 but between their picks 17, 23, 24 and 2 future 1st, I think they have more than enough to get it done with little fuss.

If I was Essendon I would Defs bid on him at 1 though as it’s much easier for port to match than Carlton and if walker was in the open pool, would he not go ahead of everyone not named Cochrane?

I guess teams will know come draft night since 99% of trades will be done.

Can't see which team give them a top 5 pick.

It's also attached to the compo pick

Preference has been Drever for awhile now but i think any of the top 9 you would have to be happy with.

Id be happy  wirh a draft of  say Drever along with  Williams at 21, Gale at 23 Lecras or Patterson at 30 will have to trade for a pick here and Van Dyke or Knapp  at 38. Wigmore at around 40 again its a pick we dont have. Armstrong and Leys with late picks/rookie  as f/s.

That with Briggs makes 9 changes leaving two for F/A, trade or rookie drafts.
with  Billy Wigmore im  looking at Vlastuins replacement here.

Means we get rid of 11 all up to accomosdate this.

Arki Butler and Gus Teixeira will return for Sandringham against Gippsland on Sunday in the Talent League preliminary final.

Butler has played just once, in a victorious schoolboy grand final for Brighton Grammar, since his collarbone injury on July 3.

Hey Grock have you got any news on who’s at the top of our draft board?

HVH at 1
Mellody at 2.

Club still leaning towards taking HVH, given the high ceiling and quality mids still likely available with our second rounder and priority pick.

RICHMOND

Richmond will now likely take its second overall pick to November’s draft, and capitalise once more before Tasmania monopolises next year’s intake.

And with Pick 2, the Tigers will have no shortage of options on the board.

With Ballarat midfielder Ethan Drever likely in Essendon’s sights as arguably the best open-pool prospect, Richmond should heavily consider 204-centimetre ruckman Harry van Hattum.

Van Hattum, an athletic and hard-working tapster, could be a long-term Toby Nankervis replacement and develop in the background while the latter and Briggs wax in the meantime.

But if it’s not the St. Mary’s product, it could be forward-midfielder Arki Butler, who Foxfooty.com.au draft expert Ben Waterworth ranks as the third-best non-club-tied prospect this year.

The 183-centimetre Sandringham Dragon has X-factor talent and has been a consistent high-performer this year in the Coates Talent League.

There is no way we are choosing Butler IMO. We dont need another mid who only touches the ball 15 times.

It was tex first game back from injury? Still a chance.

HVH if he can end up playing like an extra mid then he is our guy for me.

what are the other 2 like you mentioned?
