1. Nank

Hopefully a couple seasons left.

2. Sims.

3. Hayes-Brown

Getting better. 63 hit-outs one vfl game, others 40+

4. Ryan.

Obviously limited but as fine the 4th ruck for one more year.

Fawcett. Lefau break glass emergency options. I don't see the point of another stop gap ruck ahead of a kid with upside.

All that said they prob take Burton.

Fawcett in the ruck?

Fawcett has been playing in the ruck.

Aaron Sharkie was training with us on Friday. The media had us linked to him as a potential rookie pick in the lead up to the draft.

Aaron Sharkie
State: Victoria Metro
State League Club: Oakleigh Chargers
Community Club: Blackburn
Date of Birth: 20/01/2007
Height: 184cm

Midfielder and half back who is a relentless runner. Sharkie uses this great capacity to help his team outnumber and outwork the opposition, whilst using the ball with precision on both feet. Can play as both an inside and outside midfielder and has also been developed as a rebounding defender in the Coates Talent League. Has no trouble finding the footy, averaging 24.6 disposals in nine matches with the Oakleigh Chargers, with his two appearances for Victoria Metro netting similar numbers in matches against South Australia and Western Australia when playing midfield. He showcased his endurance with an impressive 6:21 seconds on the 2km time trial at state Draft Combine in Melbourne.

Young ruck Boston Dowling has been invited to train for a pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP) spot at Richmond.

A 208cm ruck, Dowling will train with the Tigers in a bid to land a list spot before the SSP deadline on March 2, as reported by AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey.

Dowling, 20, impressed against the Tigers last week, playing for Essendon in a VFL practice match between the clubs.

He has previously played four VFL games across two years for Collingwood.

Profile from Dowling's draft year:

Boston Dowling

height: 205cm
D.O.B: 08-04-2005
Leagues: Coates Talent League Boys

STRENGTHS:

+ Clean hands
+ One-on-ones
+ Ruck craft
+ Strength

IMPROVEMENTS:

- Endurance
- Speed

Like a number of Country region players before him, Boston Dowling made the switch from Murray Bushrangers to Oakleigh Chargers in his top-age season. There, he played 14 games where he got the chance to stand out as his club's number one ruck at different points. Though athletically he still has areas to improve, Dowling's bread and butter comes in his ruck craft and strength around the contest.

He is good one-on-one, clean by hand, and towers over quite a few of his opponents at 204cm. He can compete well in aerial contests, and is not afraid to out-body an opponent and clear the ball himself once it hits the deck. A raw prospect of good size and with some handy traits, the Vic Country Under 17s representative is a long-term talent, but one who could benefit from further development.
