Said it before so many times
The AFL's F/A system too heavily favours the players it is not a fair system
So...
Get rid of the compo and allow clubs to trade players wherever they want.
Even it out giving clubs some control back
Perfect, love it.
They do it in the USA.
Wages are going up plenty, no excuse not to be able to move interstate for a little while.
Your knowledge of USA sports and no trade clauses is obviously limited
Oh really? Elaborate?
My understanding is that player consent is not required in the NBA. They are considered 'assets' contracted to a franchise.
Full no trade clauses in the NBA are rarer than in the other USA sports, but do happen, Bradley Beal was a genuine problem for the Suns after his play declined because he didn't want to be traded. But many players have one year veto options.
No trade clauses are more common in NHL, even allowing players to sign into contracts teams they would be willing to be traded to in the future. They can even have written into contracts that they cant be sent to the minors (regardless of poor play).
Anyway, back to the NBA. Players have PLENTY of power and often manipulate their way into creating "super teams". It's fantastic that the Thunder and Pistons are topping their conferences through years of pain and drafting young talent, as opposed to having players creating teams. In the NBA, once a player demands a trade, it's not if, it's when he gets traded.
