You would think with ports list they have money to match any bid and force a trade.

Butters couldn't even get them to a GF

But futile.
He has stated he wants to win games of footy.

We have cobbled together recent history’s greatest collection of losers off field to drag the players down to their level - either through getting injured or having the life sucked out of them with coaching ineptitude.

Let off the cliff by a CEO who thinks our injuries are bad luck after having so many injuries last year we used 40 players - only exceeded by Essington. :gobdrop
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

He wont at RFC for a few years.

Re: Yze I hope he starts coaching tougher than he played. He appears very soft and cuddly with some players.

IMO Yze got a free pass for year 1 so essentially this is his first year. I also give him a free pass this year.

good luck to him if we are bottom 2 next year. We need to consider a replacement by the end of next year.

As for that stupid ceo of ours. Well that's just  damage control speak for "i hired this guy so lets spin some crap and behind the scenes make some changes"

Richmond should have the capacity to offer him stupid money,  front ended.

Mates with lalor too.

I like Darcy but I know the Freo supporters have big concerns about his knees and ongoing availability. Too heavy at the start of his career they reckon. He's started '26 well but has missed quite a few games in the three years before that.

One goal in his last 28 games - does this still make Zak Butters a $2 million a season player?

7 wins from 50 games at a % of 66.
The Bernie Quinlan of coaching, heck even Mark Neelds record is better

His free pass was year 1 when the club had their hand in the sand and hadn’t committed to a rebuild. Year 2 and year three of 17th and TBC but most likely bottom 3. I don’t see a world where he gets sacked this year unless he can’t muster a couple of wins but next year like FJ says of there isn’t a step taken then he hopefully will come under pressure. I’m losing faith.

What happens when other players contracts are up and they request ridiculous money to resign or when we are trying to lure other high profile F/A and they point to this deal and say they want around the same ball park?

I’m not convinced contracts of this length and $$$ will work with the current cap even considering the gradual rise year on year, would like to see it successfully implemented elsewhere before offering such things. Not sure how st kilda will manage but atleast NAS’ deal is only for 2 years, the TDK one being long term I expect to backfire.

Also I know he’ll only be 26 at the start of next season but I’m not sure his age profile aligns with where we currently are. In terms of high profile F/A I reckon we are better served waiting a couple more seasons so that they will be around the same age as our draft crop.

Agree with most on here that it’s a moot point as he could just stay at port for a similar amount or head to another vic club that is currently contending if he wants to accept a hair cut.

I certainly would not entertain him if port want to match an offer and force a trade. Would need to give up all our early picks this and next season unless he’s willing to walk to the draft.
