There’s been a few players live down here and play for Melbourne clubs. Would be pretty tough though

If I couldn’t play for tiges then it would be Geelong for the lifestyle, easy choice

I think you may find a current Tiger lives down Torquay way now  ;D

Yes I have posted before about the night I ended up at his house with the 3 premiership cups there, what a night

I think Geelong and the Bellarine peninsula are awful unless you like to surf. Traffic has become horrible, blocks are small with houses not that well built.
I would imagine the attraction is regional living but honestly cannot for the life of me can’t understand why you wouldn’t hit the Mornington Peninsula which has everything on the other side only nicer and with a much wider variety of golf courses, wineries etc.
Traffic is a bummer but honestly would it be any worse than Geelong?

Lived on the surfcoast for 30 years. Traffic is fine apart from 2 weeks around Christmas and new years. In fact traffic is non existent compared to Melbourne really. As far as blocks go I'm not sure where you're getting that idea from either. I'm a registered builder, worked on many blocks, houses etc. Apart from the volume estates its bloody beautiful. Can't speak much for the Bellarine though

Have to agree with you
How do you find the Bellarine through I don't mind it blocks are bit smaller.

"We're a destination club."

- Richmond coach Adem Yze on the club's interest in Zak Butters and big-name trade targets despite their ladder position.

yes, a poo destination, like how the werribee sewerage farm is technically a destination if you chuck it in your google maps

Spot on Andy. It was so cringey watching him say that with less conviction than Albo saying Labour’s position on capital gains had changed.

"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

“For mine ... 99 per cent of the time you just laugh it off – it is what it is,” Butters said of the speculation.

“I think all you guys [media] talk about it more than me,” Butters said.

“When I’m in my circle, my friends and family, they don’t really talk about it too much.

“And the footy club has been great – my coaches, my teammates, staff, I couldn’t fault the footy club one bit and that’s why I guess I love playing footy there and love going to work there.

“For me, I’m still a 25-year-old kid who’s just trying to get better at footy, so it’s pretty simple.”

Butters said even if he had made a decision he wouldn’t announce it after the season finished.

Didn’t watch the interview and probably won’t. While maybe not the best timing, I completely agree with him. We are obviously garbage on the field right now but that will turn in time. 3 out of last 10 flags, MCG tenant and being walking distance away, 90k+ members, trading ground and facilities being redeveloped, etc.

good pitch TK, don't disagree generally, although I do think we're far enough away from the dynasty for it not to be a selling point.

There will be almost no premiership players left by the time Butters arrives. Balta, Short, Vlastuin, Nank, possibly Lynch, most of whom are on the decline badly.

True Andy but I think it’s recent enough whereby you can sell players on that being the level we are strategising to build towards.

West Coast free agent Bailey Williams is among a host of big men garnering rival interest as the ruck merry-go-round prepares to kick back into gear.
...
Richmond is also an interested onlooker in the Williams chase but has an eye on Nick Madden, who is yet to recommit at Greater Western Sydney despite a multi-year contract offer at the Giants being presented earlier this year.

Bailey Williams would be a great get.

SEN’s Sam Edmund believes there are some clubs who are prepared to pay as much as $1.2 million a year for 20-year-old Saint Darcy Wilson.

I'd be keen on both.

Don't know about $1.2kk for Wilson but he does look a gun tbh

The Tigers are also among those keeping a keen eye on Nick Madden. The Giants have offered the 204cm youngster a new multi-year deal after a promising first six games in their AFL side, but it's yet to be signed. @AFLcomau
