Small forward? I'd bloody hope not.

He's played 10 games for 0 goals.

Yes I know they're a poo club and they suck and I hope it stays that way forever, but I'd still want to see at least some results before we go pinch a bloke.

Little whisper that Bomber Jayden Nguyen wanting a move to Tigs?

https://x.com/i/status/2076843068695957885

177cm small forward.

WTF is this club doing? We have a heap of small forwards, we do not need any more.
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

I wouldn’t put much stock into a link posted by a random Twitter account.

Imo we may have plenty of small forwards but we could always use another quality option there which Nguyen is not.

Twomey reckons it's still evens between us, the Dogs & the Cats for Butters.

We still have interest in Bailey Williams although Twomey thinks he'll remain the Eagles. Briggs is another ruck option.

Just in time for an interrupted preseason and aiming for a return after 2027 bye, after which he'll develop a stress fracture :D

For a guy that claims to be a passionate tiger fan for half a century.

Jayden Nguyen would be a pretty random thing to lie about.

Zak Butters would do far more for Richmond than just what his stat-line suggests, says former Blues list boss Nick Austin.

“I think it’s a smart play for Richmond.” Trade Secrets with Nick Austin.

I'd be keen on Butters, but I always come back to a different idea: instead of paying him $2m/year, would we be better off with 2-3 players at 650k-1m/year? Surely taking Butters wouldn't put us at 100% of the cap, so we could look at guys like these.

Zac Bailey - reportedly being offered 1.2-1.5
Ben King - reportedly being offered 1.3+
Bailey Williams/Kieren Briggs

Surely you'd think a Briggs/Bailey combo would end up costing similar to Butters alone. Bailey has been playing more midfield lately and is a gun IMO.

Even  if we get rid of a few like we should  we will have more than enough.

Would have thought we make room for NEEDS  not a type we have plenty of who has done little so far.

Mansell. Alger Peucker Hotton Campbell Green and Rioli even Clarke  just not enough Small forwards we have to have more lol.

What is the difference between 2016 and us bringing in Prestia, Nankervis and Caddy to this year.

Answer that and it will tell  people the Answer as to why getting Butters is about 3 years too early.

If we have pick 2, 10 or 20 depending on where compo falls  and 22 then build the list short comings with the best youth possible and address some of the other needs with mature upgrades for now. Do it while we can, Tassie is coming and they are going to bleed drafts dry.

Just how many more years will it take to get our current crop of kids to 60 - 80 100 games again. What part of that never ever seems to sink in for more than 5 minutes.

I have been saying this mate unless it's free agency forget about it or we're selling the farm to get him. We need to target the Houli, Grigg and Nank types that's our biggest  issue now especially with retirements.

Butters will be 28 years old in 3 years...

If we are to be successful again it's unlikely it'll be an exact replica of the last gf winning list build.

People need to move on.
