Agree on all points.

So it may look like:
1. Cochrane (Port matched bid)
2. HVH (Dons)
3. Walker (Carlscum matched bid)
4. Drever (Tiges)

I'd be OK with this.

Hit the draft if Butters wants the quiet life at TPPcheat-long.

all good and well Andy, but we are the new north if we just pin our hopes on kids.

We need some star power or some very good FA.

If Butters turned around & nominated us as his choice of club I'd question his mental state!  Why would any player choose us if there was any other choice?

Go to the club who can do any deal they want & don't bother lodging any paperwork with the AFL (since your new club will get away it regardless of the details), enjoy your hobby farm, your hobby horse & your hobby contract for $50b per year for the next 95 years ...  (nothing to see here ... )       :whistle.

Stick to the members wing of their cheat ground in front of the hordes of well-to-do members & you will be looked after for the rest of your days like Dangerflog is ... back pats & beers all round ...    :cheers
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!  Loud, proud & dangerous!

Geelong, Richmond and the Western Bulldogs all have NINE-year deals on the table for Zak Butters. That would take him through to 2035.

Butters favouring Cats but no nominated club as all work through trade offers and options for Port Adelaide.

The only reasons I can think of him not actually nominating a single club yet is because it’s cats/dogs and he’s waiting for them to finish their season, or, he’s not confident cats/dogs can agree a trade with port so he’s keeping other clubs on the line while he’s actually preferred club speaks to port about the trade.

Defs feels like we’re the backup plan because we can easily trade with port. The pay day from us would just be a juicy extra.

Ok McClure thinks it's geelong.

Logically, it's down to richmond and the dogs.

@FJ

I'm torn. Butters just feels a bit to me like an 'all in one basket' idea. I'd be very happy to get him, but I also wonder if we could spend the money on two other very good players as well. Zac Bailey at Lions apparently fielding offers at 1.5m/year. Absolute jet, that guy.

or lets get Dan Rioli back for less money.  :shh

we need min 2 or 3 FA to be any chance at 6 plus wins. Briggs whats he going to do? Replace Nank when he needs a break or retires.

Departing Power star Zak Butters says he’s going through a range of emotions as he decides on his next club. Off to Melbourne to collect his third All-Australian jacket @7NewsAdelaide @7AFL

I think they’ll have to as butters prefers either of the other 2 unless they can’t strike a deal with port which is why he’s leaving us on the line.

If he is not 100% committed to the Tigers ie he wants Geelong but they can't do a deal we should pull the offer.
Go to the draft instead

The list, the coaching, the high performance are all ass Damo.
We have to do something other than go exclusively to the draft again.
I am personally all in on getting Butters, Hogan and Briggs to just try and get ourselves up and to 6-8 wins before really go after free agency next year with something to actually sell.

The way we are going we will end up losing these players drafted in 2024.

Having said that, there is no way Butters will join a basket case like Richmond - we couldn’t even attract Malcolm Rosas last year - that is how bad we are going.

I personally think we are in crisis mode but noone realises it.

"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

You can take that to the bank touring tomorrow physical and will confirm to the world Friday…

No media has gone with it this, I won’t divulge but take it to the bank and you think Butters sitting with Smith Dempsey tonight is not a coincidence???!!!
