I'm trying to understand why his links are posted on here. Who is he?

So do we search the net now and put links up that randos have posted?

He's a good rubbish artist Tiger71

Did this bloke say “we were a moral” to get the “big fish” malcolm rosas jnr last off season?

It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

Whether what he is saying is right or not we'll know within the next month, but that Richmond youtube channel, the host Chris and Tiger71 are hardly "randos". Chris has had Yze and other club officals on the channel. The main difference this time is they are holding a position that is completely opposite to the media narrative. Whereas with Lynch in 2018 the media by September said he was coming to us as well.

I’d prefer Matt Rowell over Butters

Can that happen?

He’s a free agent next season so definitely on the market. His buddy Anderson is too.

You know what would be amusing?

Port match a bid for Butters and keep him at $2m+/year.

Then we go after their other players when they're doing a salary dump and giving us first rounders to take their other useful players.

It still amazes me when supporters the media most people talk about Butters not one asks what does Butters want.

Who ever get him the money will be top dollar. I dont think money is his top criteria. It will be very good where ever he goes. Take the dollars out and there are two reasons left.

We know he wants to be back around family that is most likely the #1 driving force to leaving. But is he also leaving because P/A are rebuilding themselves to a degree.

At age 26 winning a premiership would be very high on his agenda. To achieve that your probably telling yourself you need to be in a team that is regularly up there and challenging.
Yep money and go home factor are important but his legacy and standing in the game demands success hes Achieved nearly everything in the game but the glaring missing piece is that premiership cup.

If at age 26 and chasing success, then  im not coming to Richmond if im him.

I’m not coming to Richmond unless I am a fringe afl player at another club and they guarantee me senior footy.
This is why we are quiet. We would be the least preferred afl option in the entire competition with Essendon atm.

Does it? It didn’t for Adelaide with Zac Bailey and for us with Zac Butters. Look at who Norf targeted and missed over many years.

I mean it’s not a fail safe but to think it doesn’t play major role in players decision is wrong. Brisbane had to up their offer significantly to get Bailey to re-sign. He was almost certainly heading to the crows until the lions recent offer added another year - 8 years for a 27 year old!

Similar with butters. I know he didn’t end up coming here, but we were by all accounts in his final 3 with Geelong and the bulldogs needing to make the largest offers in their club history to compete with it. Not to mention him knocking back the pies offer even though they are still a decent side compared to us.

I’m sure almost every player would rather win than lose but the money has to be right too and no doubt we can lure some free agents with some generous contract offers.

Plus I know we are crap right now but we’re still the bloody Richmond Football Club let’s not talk like some minnow.

Ok. Let’s examine 2 clubs in recent history.
Crows - Will Day, Mason Redman, Harrison Petty
Norf - Dusty, Heeney, De Goey (Saints too), Andrew Gaff, Josh Kelly

And we will target a heap of players and they will all say no until we start our entire off field all over again.

Money might talk but it doesn’t exactly result in players walking.

And history says they won’t walk to play for losers.

And we are in peak loser mode.

From 8 finals and 3 flags in 10 seasons, we have gone 12,18,17,17.

That’s a pretty good sample that measures mediocrity don’t you think?
