who cares let them set precedents for when in 5 or so  years time we are in a situation to go and get a butters to challenge.

At the moment im only interested in players who cost little who we can call value add ons over  the many under par players we have who have had ample time.

Id be wrapt to get a player like brady Wright VFL  to replace Fawcett. Jackson Voss VFL  is a better player than Trezise, Banks Brown Short atm. Theres a east perth player i really like in Jake Souta WAFL . I think Lewis Young DFA would be good kpd depth, Briggs gives us a like for like cover for Nankervis and is a huge upgrade on Ryan and the other two.

Dont know the cost to get him but Harry Oliver as a hb i loved as a junior he has huge competition for a game at GWS and could be prised out to get a regular game thru a Trade.

There is so much we could be trying and i hope we are. It doesnt have to be all nd picks

CLUBS SET FOR ANOTHER ROUND OF TRADE TALKS

CLUBS will meet again for a second round of trade talks next Tuesday ahead of the official start of the player movement period.

This round of conversations will be the last time the clubs all gather before the opening day of the Trade Period on Monday, October 5.

Get Blakey!

Absolute gun

Would be sensational to get him

But the woke brigade will say no, because he was a naughty boy

If they knew what was happening at all clubs , we wouldn’t be able to field an AFL competition

AFL football boss Greg Swann on Fox Footy tonight asked about the Butters proposed trade.

Video: https://x.com/FOXFOOTY/status/2100154668672565756

---

“It (a memo) goes out every year ... here’s the rules, follow the rules and then everyone’s okay,” Swann told Fox Footy’s AFL 360 on Wednesday night.

“You’d have to look at it, but on the surface, it would have to stand on its own feet. But, there’s other permutations to it ... if the debate is around they (Port Adelaide) pay money as well, you can’t do that if there’s a compensation pick paid.

“If he’s going to the Bulldogs, and you need to pay X amount of money to get to the band to get first-round compensation. Then, at the next level you get a player back, where the club has got the compensation pays (their) money, you’re manipulating the band.

“You can’t do that. In this instance, there’s been debate about us getting out of the way, but because there’s a compensation pick involved (we will).

“People are talking about two first-round picks (for Marshall). Again, we haven’t seen it and it’s only speculation. But, speaking to people today that Marshall hasn’t even said he’s going to go at the moment.

“In this instance, let’s just see what happens. There might be other things involved, there might be other picks and players involved. We are speculating a little bit, but in the main it’s got to be pretty close — or some semblance of close.”

I would have rathered Butters but yes if we can somehow get a good deal here would fix a massive issue with our rebound 50’s.
Perhaps we can get a second rounder from Pies for short and add that to our second rounder knowing we’ll bid on Cochrane/Walker and get another second rounder?
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”
