Chad Warner has made clear to Sydney he is returning next year and isn’t considering a move to WC. Sydney obviously very keen to keep him. Discussions across the last week have made clear both parties are on the same page. Blakey still the most likely to ask for a trade.

Greater Western Sydney key forward Jake Riccardi is likely to nominate Essendon as the club he wants to play for in 2027 and beyond.

One player probably worth a look for an upgrade on Lefau and more depth if (when) Lynch gets hurt.

St Kilda is open to offers for second-year defender Alix Tauru.

Multiple clubs were told at today's informal round of trade catch ups that the Saints would listen to offers for the contracted 19-year-old.

It's been a dramatic fortnight for Tauru. Toured Gold Coast, Saints offered a new four-year deal, Gold Coast pulled out after not wanting to go more than their level in offer, Tauru keen to stay at Saints and now rival clubs told today that St Kilda will listen to trade offers.

Well if the club is keen then they have the perfect starting point with the saints reported interest in short, or even if it’s short to the pies and Houston to the saints and Tauru coming to us + whatever pick swaps are put in as a sweetener.

Id give them our future first and the kid a big bag to get it over the line.

Do short separate, f or the best possibile pick / pick upgrade

Wouldn’t be interested at that price our future 1st is almost certainly still a top 5 pick. He wasn’t even drafted that high to begin with, has played mostly in the reserves and the saints are putting him on the table.

To me our 1st round picks aren’t on the table unless we are getting well overs in return.

You have to present a deal good enough for stk to accept.

If we finish 3rd last it ends up being about the tenth(?) best player in the pool.

Would be very keen on Patrick Retschko and Alix Tauru bolstering the lalor crop as our core going forward.

Was leaning towards taking him at the smillie pick and I think he's shown good stuff if with the question marks so far in afl

Joel Amartey will inform Sydney tomorrow that he intends to join @CarltonFC as a free agent. He's made his mind up.

The saints have informed teams that they are welcome to offers.

Tauru and his management have made it known they would like to explore their options (although I suspect it was just done as a leverage move).

Both of these moves slide his value.

If we finish 3rd last we would have pick 6 (not withstanding compos, father sons, academies, etc.). We could very well finish last which gives us pick 2 of second last is pick 4. I wouldn’t be offering any of those at face value.

They are interested in a player of ours. We have a couple of picks around the 20 mark, if the player wants out and we are keen and he nominates us, that would be close to all I’d be offering.

Dont need to exchange picks as both Pies & Saints looking to off-load contract $'s, therefore it could be a player exchange and salary dump exercise.

Short to Pies
Houston to Saints
Tauru to Tigers + Houston salary difference between he & Short
Tauru get a contract extension by 2 years with better $s as well.

This can’t possibly happen
No way StK accept that

Would anyone be keen on houston?

Short for Houston, we pay both contracts, I dunno, something like that.

Could be a mid option

No I would not want 30 year Dan Houston unless it's a salary dump and we get proper compensating draft picks
