Silver/Gold Member Cocktail Night
« on: July 06, 2006, 04:07:29 PM »
Received the invite in the mail today.

Crown Palladium Room
Wednesday July 26th 2006
6.30pm-9pm

Always a fun night. Chance to meet with the local riff-raff, talk to the players, huddle around and abuse Chaffey :rollin

Last year I bought Tambo's match guernsey from the silent ausction. Wonder what will be there this year.  :shh

So who's going this year? An ideal chance to meet up and have a few :cheers
My parents bought me a Richmond jumper and enrolled me in a junior footy clinic in 1981...look at me now.

Ill make the journey again this year. Had a blast last year. My old man has got the Campbell framed top proudly sitting in the lounge room that he brought. And in another weird incident some girl (who was as drunk as me) said I looked like Blingers....and got a photo with me and Blingers. If only Blingers was single hahahahahaha

I'm only going for the free food lol - pretty good spread  :thumbsup
Cos I'm driving, won't be able to drink too hard like I'd want to - need a chauffeur next time methinks and get really stuck into it.
Taking two days off work for the B&F - after wasting myself last year, need an extra day to recover lol

Am hoping for some reports from the big night 2nite. If someone gets a chance to speak to Richo, tell him we're all waiting for him to go out to stud. Get to it, big fella!
Have a great night everyone!

Had to behave myself as I had company, but I managed to have a quick chat with Tambo, JON, Clever, Thirsty, Axl and Kelmoore. Also had the annual catch up with Moisie, and won the silent auction for Troy Simmonds "Dreamtime at the G" Jumper. Glad to see the improved weather (relatively speaking) had the girls out and dolling themselves up. As always, a big thanks to the RFC for putting on this event...a fun night was had.

And was good to catch up with you too, Fwoysie - nothing like free food and grog, hey lol
My big embarrassment for the night was going up to a player i thought was Ray Hall, and saying hi Ray, can i have a picture with you and my friend, and he said yep, glad to.  And I asked him how he was going and when he'd be back and said he might be ready soon to play at Coburg.  And I'm chatting away happy as you like, and my girlfriend is just looking at me as if I was from another planet - it was Trent Knobel lol

Oh well  :wallywink :rollin

I went but probably shouldn't have because I was so bloody tired  :sleep - started work at 7.30am yesterday so probably wasn't in the mood. Actually it was more like I was in a bit of a daze  :help ;D and no alcohol was involved (maybe that was the problem  ;D)

I apologise to anyone who I might of walked by and not spoken too  :P - I did it a couple of times when I headed down to the silent auction table. Walked by some mates didn't see 'em  and they grabbed me and told me off for being a snob  :rollin

Met lots of people i hadn't seen for years that I didn't know would be there, so I'm glad I made the effort. Like you WP I'd been starting work early all week and was very tired. :thumbsup
