Will both Richo and Schulz play this week on the SCG?
« on: July 17, 2006, 04:58:33 PM »
On the smaller SCG you don't really need a CHF as one kick from the centre ends up at FF. Will Terry play horses for courses and drop one of Sarge or Richo or will he stick with a FF/CHF combo?

Great question.
I think it has to be one or the other.

Richo had a day out their in the wet in '04 but he looked a touch underdone on the weekend.

Schulzy has a great lead and the SCG might suit him to a tee.

But I agree I'm not sure there's room for both.
It'd be a brave move to leave Richo out, but the changing of the guard is going to happen at some stage. :-\

Hmmmm...

we all know richo kicks arse v the swans at the scg. richo will play from the square and jay will play down back imo this week. last time we played we were to light on in defence. with gas , chubba and jay down back, that will alow joel(if not suspended) and paddy to be real creative on teh rebound. if say joel is out, then jay will definately play down back.
i reckon give polo the job on goodes, yes he is giving away height and weight but i know and have faith he can nullify goodes

I like your thinking X especially Polo for Goodes. Dean seems to relish playing on these tall mobile types - against Franklin at Coburg and Bruce last week.

Now that Joel is out then Sarge at CHB is now a no brainer as yourself and Ramps pointed out with the big fella at FF.

Everyone knows that games at the SCG are won and lost on clearances. If Knobel is fit, I would play him at the expense of Patto as he is a good tap ruckman. I would probably keep Richo and Schulz in the team with schulz moving to the backline on O'Keefe.
We will need Tuck to lift and players like Deledio, Tivendale and Foley to have the guts to try and kick a few goals on the run rather than be Richo focused.

Agree totally with what you've said tiga but the RFC site says Knobel will still be out for another 1-2 weeks with his ankle injury.

Put Richo at CHB and leave Shulz at FF and we just might get somewhere :rollin

Richo should stay far far away from our backline  :rollin. I can't remember which game it was earlier this year but when he went back towards the end of the third quarter it was heart in your mouth stuff  :help.

On club corner, said Richo has kicked the most amount of goals of any person on the MCG.

Beat Matthew Lloyd's record of 391 by kicking 392 on the weekend.
