Nick Davis
« on: July 17, 2006, 09:08:53 PM »
Rumours up here are spreading that the Swans will be looking to use Nick Davis as trade bait due to his recent comments in the media and his falling out with his team mates. Should we be interested in him and if so what would we give up for him??
Interesting to note that his falling out with the Swans has a similar pattern to when he left the Pies.

IMO we don't really need another medium forward in the side with Petts and Browny especially at the hefty price (first rounder) the Swans would want for Davis. We've also got Krak, Lids, Blingers and even Paddy Bowden who can play as small/mid forwards. IMO the price would be too high for a player who'd make little difference to us. It's not like Davis can be pushed into the midfield.

Nick Davis isn't returning this week  :thumbsup.

Quote
The premiership coach [Roos] said Davis had alienated himself from teammates and would not be considered for Sydney's finals-shaping match against Richmond on Saturday night.

nick davis is a quality finisher, i dont beleive paul roos one bit. pauls roos always peed me off, he is the king of fos. just like matthews.

this may be our chance to trade tiv or hall for davis, imagine davis on one flank, petts on teh other.

that would enable petts to run hard as he does to to help out our defence but guarantee a quality half fwd with fantastic foot skills to remain in teh fwd 50

i say trade hall for davis, hall 2 yrs ago wanted to go to sydney, i say send him off!

Agree Ox, not to mention his egocentric nature thinking he's above the team.

Sounds a bit like a tubby version of Aker  :rollin

Seriously, we don't need or wont Nick Davis. He is a player that puts in the har work when he feels like.

He even admitted in his recent newspaper column that is skin folds are not where they should be and either is his fitness.  ::)

Don't let his "performance" in last years finals hide the fact that he underperforms constantly. Plays perhaps 3-4 really good games a year the rest of the time he does very little.

Perhaps the Swans/Lions could do a straight swap  ;D

Aker was a disruptive influence as Brisbane won flag after flag after flag - that's the kind of bad influence I like lol
