Bring on the draft picks
« on: July 29, 2006, 05:00:06 PM »
That's all we're playing for now.

No Cogs, Newman, Browny, Gas, Kellaway, Krakouer, Thursfield and a half fit Richo.

Plough should make sure that Casserley and Hughes and Oakley Nicholls come in for games against Carlton & Essendon. Put all the kids in...all of them...and if we win great and if we lose ... it wont matter.

Casserly is injured (groin) but agree Ramps we should now play the kids - Limbach, JON, etc. If we fall away then we gain good draft picks; if we win then a bonus. All about education and getting games into them. We probably don't have a choice with the injuries we have. Richo will probably be put in cotton wool now like Tredrea has for Port. Get everyone right for 2007.

You got that one right Ramps and while he's at it put Raines into the midfield because IMO that's where he should play next year.Watching him today he is a football brain and a futire leader with a 'Jack Dyer type don't argue'

Id  like to see Simmonds, Polo, Deledio and Raines actually as our starting 4 in the middle and keep the 3 running in  the midfield for the rest of the season.

Yeah, it's time to drop Tivendale and some of the old crew for some fresh blood. It seems to work for Brisbane, they've unearthed some youngsters like Rischitelli, Moody and Stiller. It should work for us

 :clapping

Start with them then give other youngsters a go with the rotations. Try to get the footy into their hands as much as possible to build up their confidence and learn what it takes to play in the midfield and be an attacking midfielder. The Doggies, Lions and West Coast games coming up could be a blessing in disguise. Nothing better than learning from a West, Cooney, Black, Judd and Cousins.

If we don't win another game for the year then so be it. 8 wins out of 22 should crack us a top 5 pick.

lids is playing lazy and lost

even BT said it in his call yesterday, lids just looks lost out there and i blame terry wallace at this stage for really confusing the game plan.

terry said he totall changed his game plan after the sydney thumping because he at that stage believed that the run and carry style would not work but the tempo control game plan would.

well the tempo game plan can only work sometimes and only when u have 2 massive huge strong key defenders! we dont have them

this rubbish game plan that terry has now has a ripple effect, its stuffing up the development of our young future guns, its showing up players that have no real talent/skill eg tiv, tuck, hyde, hall, rodan  etc and its totally wrecking richo, the run and carry game plan at least got the ball inside 50 quicker, meant richo had more contested ball, meant guys like krak and brown fed off the crums, but now teh game plan is up pooh creek and its all because terry was too reactive after the sydney thumping

now i would rather us lose by 100 pts trying to play good footy than watching that crap i saw yesterday

that means

play paddy on a wing , play joel on a half back flank or how about putting him in the guts .

bring in mguane to playt the yr out in defence with schulz

pis.s off hall, tivendale rodan for good

play the young kids and give raines  a run or 2 in the middle , his body is alot harder now than deledio and isnt afraid to put his body on the line, unlike lids who is beginning to look too precious .

bring back patto, the worst thing we can do now is make the finals

we need a total overhaul again

here is a chance for guys like jon to play the yr out

its tiime 4 terry to play meyer in his rightful position!!!

we need a strong spine

mguane
schulz
sugar
richo
staff/patto/hughes/snake (can all rotate FF)

the time has come now, terry is 2 yrs in and we are not much better off because we are a team still full of pathetic overrated players

we must trade/delist tiv, hall, gaspar, rodan, tuck, staff, chaff, krak, roach,

we need to recruit 2-3 KP backmen, aker, gardiner and physically and metally tough players who are not afraid to get their bodies dirty and hit! its a shame polo is 15 kgs heavier as he was teh balls, but not the frame, i hope in time and 2-3 more preseasons in the gym, he can bulk up as he has what we are looking 4

terry has to stop kidding himself and thinking his master tactics will always win, because u need the cattle, and by continually praising players who dont deserve it he is just following the spud legacy

bring on the kids, we as i said b4 cannot afford to make finals, lets justy give these kids game time , it worked for the saints, look at them now!

Bring on the draft picks should mean we trade a big name or maybe 2 and maybe some supporters get peeed off but lifes tough and we all move on its not about who should be playing in the spine. Hopefully we slide down the table and get North or someone to cough up a pick.

A couple maybe afew weeks ago I placed Tuck on a hit list of players who wont be RFC premiership players. Many of you disagree but I stand by my opinion that hes treading water, he has currency and if we could package him up in a deal to get an early pick we MUST take it.

McGuane is nowhere near ready for AFL footy as a full-back size wise at least. He's had bags kicked on him in recent weeks in the VFL. A big gorilla like Gehrig would have kicked 20 on him.

We do need to trade for early first round picks. Another 2004 draft is needed where we pick up a few talented kids in one go especially KPPs. It probably won't happen but it would be great if we had 3 first round pics and we got 2 quality KPPs and a ballwinning midfielder.

Would only trade tuck if the club was definately going to focus more on big bodied midfielders , if trading means another skinny flanker forget it..
Say no to flankers!!!
