rodans goals mean nothing, he is too far behind the pack, would rather foley, howat and white, over rodan anyday

Rodan was without doubt the best of the Richmond boys for the Burgers.

I also thought it was Tommy Roach's best game for a long time -attacked the ball really hard.

And Kel Moore went off in the 1st quarter with what looked like a hamstring injury  :help....... he lasted a little bit longer than .........

one D. Rioli who did his hammy too

i dont doubt 1 bit that rodan  was our best , but there is no way he should get a game infont of the other younger blokes playing 4 the same position.

same goes 4 roach

pity about moore, looks like his body just isnt made 4 footy

Shame about Moore. Like Paddy Steinfort, injury looks like killing off Kel's AFL career.

How did McGuane go in your opinion WP. Any probs with his knee?

RFC needs to take a look at a club like South Melbourne in the soccer...reason is simple South never cared what the 2nds did, didnt give a poo if they won or lost or came no where, all they cared about was

1) was there any player in the 2s who could play
2) what was needed to fast track the player

Coburgs got all these players, listed RFC and non listed, but for mine the only thing that counts is can we fast track any kid to the seniors. Can we get Hughes to be a FF, can we get Casserley onto a HBF ...are there say 3 youngsters that we can concentrate on as a club and say...poo...lets work these boys, lets fast track them...that doesnt mean you dont care about the others, but coburg should be about RFC getting 3 young players every year who can get fast tracked and become good players at the AFL.

There isnt really anyone to get dropped anyway.

I think Browy may be back this week and Kellaway may also be a chance so one or two players may be unlucky to get dropped.

Geez Ramps, I reckon we'd go backwards if we followed that setup.  ;D
Out of 6 developing players in 2005 who broke into the senior team, 5 are now Richmond regulars (I include Thursfield in the 5 who would be if not for his injury and Deledio who has not played for Coburg).
Out of 7 developing players in 2006 who broke into the senior team, 5 are now Richmond regulars (2 first year players are back at Coburg for development).

The Richmond and Coburg affiliation is meant to benefit both parties, not just Richmond. I'd prefer youngsters on the Richmond list to be nurtured and developed in an environment where how Coburg is going is cared about.

my point is that Coburg should be about development first, second and third...its about getting some players in there and outta there fast tracked to play senior footy. I dont really agree with the focus our supporters put on the results. If Coburg wins a game and the best 12 players are coburg players- then thats a no result for us. Richmond should come 1st in all matters. But I accept your view and its ok to disagree with me...its just an opinion :cheers

Under Andy Collins I think we've been able to do both given the number of youngsters at Richmond that have debuted and blossomed as FF pointed out.  One of the reasons Collins got the gig was because his record with the development of kids. Nothing wrong with installing a winning mentality either and playing finals even at VFL level. If Coburg has a decent on-field structure which plays a similar style to Richmond then that'll also help with speeding up our youngsters progression. Remember Polo in his first year began in the Coburg ressies and was pushing for a Richmond spot by the end of the year. This year he has cemented it. Rainsey was similar with how he came on at Coburg and now would be in our top 5 for the year.
