Yeah they said that Bowdo actually fractured his cheek bone in the last game against WC.

Team so far

B: Bassett Glass Gilbee

HB: McLeod Joel Bowden Craig Bolton

C: Goodes West Goodwin

HF: Didak Hall O'Keefe

F: Riewoldt Fevola Brad Johnson

R: Lade Judd Cousins

Inter: Cox, Pavlich, McDonald, S.BUrgoyne

Simmo a little stiff but Cox and Lade a both great ruckman and had great seasons also.

Great effort by Joel on his selection at Centre Half Back.

Congrats to Joel and well deserved  :clapping :congrats

From the AFL site:

Joel Bowden
Centre Half Back
Richmond

Ever since returning to the senior side - after he was dropped in round six 2004 - the transformation of Bowden into one of the competition's elite defenders has been one of the great Richmond stories. As a result, Bowden won back-to-back Jack Dyer Medals in 2004-05 and again he is right in the hunt to make it a hat-trick in 2006. His 2006 statistics are compelling - he was ranked the second best player in the home-and-away season, according to Champion Data, while his 138 rebound 50s - the most in the AFL - were 26 more than his nearest rival.

B:  Bassett        Glass               Gilbee
HB: McLeod Joel Bowden Craig Bolton
C:   Goodes        West            Goodwin
HF: Didak            Hall              O'Keefe
F: Riewoldt         Fevola        Brad Johnson (c)
R: Lade             Judd             Cousins
Inter: Cox, Pavlich, McDonald, S.Burgoyne

I think they got it pretty much right and picked on merit not just the usual names this year. Simmo and possibly Chapman of Geelong were stiff. I would have Pavlich at CHF though and Hall on the bench.

Surprised he got the CHB position, especially given that Clement missed out. Thought he would have been a much more fitting CHB, as Joel got quite a few goals kicked on him playing in that position. But who am I to judge?

Well done to him and as long as he continues to be amongst our best players, which he is, I'll be happy.  :thumbsup

joel didnt get that many kicked on him at chb, more when he played closer to goal in more a fb or bp posi. im glad clement didnt make it, he is teh most overrated defender in the league and has never deserved a spot in the AA team, joel also plays more daring and brave than clement. the only reason clement stands out is because mick sh.ithouse keeps pumping him up and cos he always wears shorts 3 sizes too big  :rollin
