I feel quite sick posting this because of who is organising it, but a subject and cause dear to my heart, so have no other choice than to post it.  I won't be walking with the dude, but will make a donation.

Joffa’s Walk for Epilepsy'

Joffa Corfe is swapping the gold jacket for a pair of walking shoes, for the inaugural Joffa’s Walk for Epilepsy Awareness on Sunday October 29, 2006.

Join Joffa and friends at 10am, Victoria Park, Lulie St Abbotsford, as they embark on a cross-town fundraising walk finishing up at Albert Park Lake. All monies raised will go to the Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria, 818 Burke Rd. Camberwell. Victoria, Telephone 9805 9111.

It is estimated that more than 500, 000 Australians presently suffer from epilepsy. People with epilepsy deserve a fair go… there are no age, racial, national or geographical boundaries – epilepsy is universal.

The Australian concept of a fair go can apply to people living with epilepsy only if we work together to actively support all Australians who suddenly find themselves in this unenviable situation.

Joffa would like to invite everyone to become involved either by joining him on the walk or by donating to the cause. All donations received will go directly to The Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria, who have shown their full support for this initiate.

The walk will be an Annual Event, so come along and be part of a little bit of history!

When: Sunday October 29, 2006

Time: 10 am

Leaving: Victoria Park, Lulie St Abbotsford

Arriving: Albert Park Lake – for a planned BBQ

The walk will commence at Victoria Park, and travel up Johnson St to Lygon St and continue to Victoria Pde. They will then head through the market area to Peel St and back into the city area down to Swanson St. and then along the riverbank to the Casino. The last leg will take them through the Southbank area and on to Albert Park Lake for a BBQ.

If anyone can further assist in making this walk a success either by sponsorship or a donation it would be greatly appreciated.

For further details please contact: Joffa joffacorfe@hotmail.com or Norm n_marmo@bigpond.net.au.

A very worthy cause but sheesh not more attention for that Collingwood idiot. Why didn't they make the march a all Victorian footy clubs march to gain greater support?  ???
