Tiges undecided on Kingsley

The Tigers are far from decided on whether to take former Cat Kent Kingsley in the upcoming pre-season draft and will continue to look at the other options available before December 12.

While Kingsley has been training with the Tigers for almost a month, coach Terry Wallace said the club might yet move to recruit a different former player currently training at a rival club.

"(Kingsley) is training with us but really what you do at this stage is you have a look at the whole list of who's available, not only those training at your club but those training at other clubs as well," Wallace said on SEN on Tuesday morning.

Among other second-hand players currently training with rival clubs are Anthony Corrie, Ty Zantuck, Adam Iacobucci, Joel Reynolds, Luke Brennan, Tristan Cartledge, Ben Kane, Will Slade, Josh Thurgood, Joel Perry, Andrew Ericksen, Nick Batchelor, James Ezard, Harry Miller, Tom Rischbieth, Hayden Skipworth, Josh Willoughby, Jayden Attard, Tom Roach, Matthew Davis, Earl Shaw and Michael West.

Plough must mean untried youngsters as there's no one there we'd want.

Possible Picks For AFL Preseason Draft
aflinsider.net
December 7th 2006 01:07

1 Carlton: C Ackland
2 Essendon: M Michael
3 Kangaroos: H Skipworth
4 Port Adelaide: T Hurley
5 Hawthorn: B Ross
6 Richmond: N Batsanis
7 St. Kilda: C Keating
8 Collingwood: C Bryan
9 Carlton: T Cartledge
10 St. Kilda: B Hart
11 St. Kilda: T Roach

Richmond may take Kingsley with their pick, or opt for another young midfielder. But if Clarke really does nominate for the preseason draft then Richmond might take him. Not just to annoy the Saints, although that might be one result, but Clarke would fill some of Stafford's role and Clarke was originally a Richmond player at the start of his career.

I have a hunch that dean limbach will be taken by Geelong in the rookie draft, whether we've decided to select him or not. Why?
1. Wheadon is now at Geelong, and he was a big fan of Limbach's      eg he once compared him to a young Matthew Lloyd.
2.Geelong are always on the look-out for tall forwards, even though they've picked up Hawkins, and will re-select Lonergan.
3. Geelong's picks in the rookie draft are immediately before ours.

Richmond is expected to select Kingsley (afl site)
« Reply #109 on: December 08, 2006, 03:31:20 PM »
From the AFL site:

Players to nominate for the draft on Friday besides (Cain) Ackland, (Matthew) Clarke and (Mal) Michael were Chris Bryan (Carlton), Anthony Corrie (Brisbane Lions), Ben Eckermann (Port Adelaide), Tim Hutchison (Kangaroos), Kent Kingsley (Geelong), Tom Lonergan (Geelong) and Brad Murphy (Western Bulldogs).

This is in addition to the delisted players that were overlooked in the recent NAB AFL draft, a list that includes Adelaide veteran Ben Hart, ex-Tiger Andrew Kellaway and Collingwood's Cloke brothers - Cameron and Jason.

Richmond is expected to select ex-Kangaroos and Geelong forward Kingsley at pick six

Wheadon would spend heaps of one-on-one time with Limbach working on his goalkicking at training. So you're spot on there GB.

The Blues have already committed to ex-Saint Cain Ackland with the No. 1 pick and are likely to give former Richmond player Ty Zantuck another chance at No. 9.

Well I bagged Pat Bowden (Still to prove me wrong but doing ok so far), so I will also bag Kingsley.
Hopefully this makes him a good player also - but I doubt it. That's if we pick hi of course.
Don't know why, just have a funny feeling Limbach may bite us on the arse 3 or 4 years down the track  :-\

Does anyone know if SEN is covering the PSD and rookie drafts or do we have to rely on the AFL site  :-\ ?
