Miller on SEN

Miller on SEN Thursday morning - replayed tonight.

* Relax time for 2-3 weeks after trade week then back into it..

* Polak deal - had to work with the Pies and things were going well until the Bombers joined in with Solomon. They wanted things we weren't willing to give up so we cut them out and got the trade done without them.

* Set our sights on Polak 12 months ago and spoke to his manager. Knew he didn't have longevity at Freo.

* Coaches get in the way during trade week lol. 10 hour time difference b/w him and Wallace.

* Spoke about Chubba vs Gas again. Kellaway was a 3rd tall and they need to be attacking players these days and not just defenders. Gas is a last line defender for the Lynch's. Two totally different positions.

* Couple of years still left in Gas. He hasn't lost his pace which is most important. Thursfield will of course put pressure on Gas.

* We needed 5-6 years of stability. Only 2-3 years into our rebuild so still a couple of years off. Now days need patience as you can't make instant quick changes like the old days.

* Raines - last few games at Coburg in 2004 were outstanding so Miller always believed Rainesy would be good.

* Pettifer - Initially expected things just to happen but now works as hard as anyone and the past 2 years he's been very good. You know the players who will improve just by watching them at training.

* Roach - difficult decision to delist him but we needed to free up space for 5 choices and this year all club will need to make tough choices. A few players delisted from a number of clubs that still could play AFL. Roachy had and has great support from his dad Michael.
