SEN's Team of a Lifetime
« on: December 11, 2006, 10:39:38 PM »
SEN are running a comp where they ask you to name your best Tiger team from the past 30 years?

----------------------------

The TEAM of a LIFETIME
sen.com.au

Need a footy fix in the off-season ?
Tune in to the Run Home for the ‘Team of a Lifetime’ promotion.
Each day Ox and Huddo will invite a well-known supporter to present the ‘Team of a Lifetime’ from their AFL club – a team made up of the best players from the last 30 years.

The boys will then take your calls and discuss the contentious selections.
So join in the fun, put together a team for your favourite club and email it to therunhome@sen.com.au. and stay listening as the arguments begin.

Me and a few tigers supporters have put in our entry.  Was a very good debate.

When does the comp close?

SEN has done the Cats, Saints and Hawks' sides but not Richmond's yet. Wallace got a bench spot in the hawks line-up. What no Buddy Franklin?!  :rollin

The teams done are listed here: http://www.sen.com.au/index.php?pageID=8701&merchant_id=0

Nice team, I'd probably go Broderick and Lambert before Gale and Daffy though.

Yeah they were stiff to miss out but Knights, Weightman and Raines were the best 3 midfielders IMO and I gave the 1980 players higher worth.  Went for Gale as a second ruckman and I couldn't think of another HFF goalkicker so Daffy got the possie.

SEN are "playing" the teams off against each other in a knockout comp by matching up the teams and Hudson, Schwarz and Niall choosing the best player in each position on the ground. The side that ends up with the most best players wins. The teams are listed here: http://www.sen.com.au/index.php?pageID=8701&merchant_id=0

1st round

Carlton vs Sydney (Carl won)
Essendon vs Richmond (Ess won)
Hawthorn vs Bulldogs (Haw won)
Geelong vs Fitzroy (Gee won)
Collingwood vs Kangaroos (Coll won)
Melbourne vs St.Kilda (St K won)

All winners and two closest losers thru to next round...

2nd round

Essendon vs Kangaroos (Ess won)
Geelong vs St.Kilda  (Geel won)
Hawthorn vs Collingwood (Haw won)
Carlton vs Richmond (still to be done)
