The Tigers lost five games by 10 points or less during 2012 and had a draw against Port Adelaide in the final round of the season.
The 28-year-old has been in Mildura this week relaxing while trying to recover from a number of injuries he endured towards the end of this season.
In the end of season review, King told Sunraysia Daily yesterday the club had learnt how to better manage close situations in matches.
“It was pretty disappointing in the end, there was probably half a dozen games we should have won, if you look back at those games and win those game you end up playing finals,” King said.
“If we have the opportunity next year when we’re a couple of points down or a couple of goals down, we’ll bounce back and win those games next year.”
King had a injury-plagued 2012, adding only 12 games to his career total of 87.
