Off with his head! - Which coach will go first?

Out of all the coaches, whose head(s) are on the chopping block if their side struggles this year?

IMHO:

Thompson is GAWN if they don't finish top 4 ;D

Poor Pagan will almost get the chop again as the Blues bumble their way through another season of off-field turmoil  :rollin

Connolly - will get the chop if Freo don't finish top 4

Malthouse - wouldn't be at all surprised if he pulls the pin at the end of 2007

Daniher - I reckon the toffs will bay for his blood all season  :help ;D

 :clapping :thumbsup :shh ;D

Agree with Moi's and WP's lists.

Laidley is Spud mark #2. Thomspon isn't far behind. Daniher seems to have the Dees in a holding pattern in the bottom half of the top 8.

As a smokey I would also add Neil Craig. The Crows' star players are another year older and after back-to-back chokes in the finals after finishing top 2 the ferals will be baying for blood if they slip up again.

I wonder too if Sheeds would pull the pin if the bombers finish bottom 4 again.

The ferals would demand the snip-snip of certain "favourites" on our list if we did finish bottom 4 but Wallace is safe IMO. His task when he took on the job was to have rebuilt the list for long-term success by the end of his 5 year tenure. I can't see Miller deviating from that and suggesting to board that Plough get the chop even if under pressure from supporters/coterie members. It would mean though there would be public pressure on Terry to produce in 2008 but that will be there anyway whereever we finish. The Tiger Army will want to have seen some finals action by 2008-9.

Neil Daniher joins Connolly after last night. Plough completely outsmarted him. Put Polak as a loose man who cut them up. So Daniher puts a man on him. Plough tne puts a man on Polak's man and frees up Polak. Daniher repeats his move and Melbourne have a congested 17-man forward line with Polak still loose and our forward wide open for Richo, Browny and Petts to lead into.

Took Daniher half a game to realise Richo was carving up Dutch.

Neale Daniher gone - Caro

Daniher era set to end
Caroline Wilson | June 27, 2007 | The Age

NEALE Daniher's days at Melbourne are numbered, with club and coach now expected to part company by mutual consent by the start of August.

The coaching merry-go-round, which has remained stationary for several years, has begun revolving, with Fremantle's Chris Connolly now an unofficial candidate for the Demons position, given his history with the club and strong relationships with Melbourne custodians, along with the fact that his position at Fremantle is also under threat.

Daniher and his football staff are under no illusion about the coach's future, with the board last year moving to re-sign recruiting chief Craig Cameron and football operations manager Chris Fagan to long-term agreements while leaving Daniher with one year on his contract.
