The Collingwood Show
« on: July 10, 2004, 02:15:26 AM »
There's no doubt Eddie has done a fantastic job promoting Collingwood and restoring them off-field at least back to a power.

However, it's an amazing coincidence that whenever there's an off-field incident involving non-Collingwood players the channel 9 footy department know all about it and it's the main story that opens The Footy Show with maximum hype, but when it's incidents involve Collingwood players Eddie defends not mentioning them by saying "the Channel 9 football department didn't know anything about it" and it would be conflict of interest for him to disclose it. Who is he trying to kid  ::). No mention of Brodie Holland or the current Queensland hotel incidents and Cameron Cloke speeding at 144kph which ticked off their joint major sponsor, the TAC, was just mentioned in passing later on during the show.

Exactly right MT, If it had have been someone else he would of had it on the show and milked it for all it's worth while subtlely denigrating the side that did it while trying to appear nice. I am seething at the moment because of what this guy gets away with, the general public don't realise what he does and the techniques he uses in order to manipulate things and make everything appear ok and standard.

If a ticket emerges to challenge our current board they should try to coax someone from the ACCC onboard.
