IT IS not quite the Tour de France, but Hawthorn's Lance "Buddy" Franklin has nabbed his own yellow jersey.

 The young star stood out among his teammates at training yesterday decked in the club's own version of cycling's leaders' vest.

The yellow jersey is awarded to the club's best trainer.

The playing group votes on who should receive the yellow vest, which is worn for the week.

Buddy in the paper again today. The Hawks must be behind in memberships lol. You don't see us pumping Lids up in the press. If Franklin does play on the wing he might go head to head with Blingers or even better Polo  .

2007 is going to be the greatest footy season ever with every player superfit, improving on PBs and training the house down  .

Another RFC initiative that another club has taken onboard. The RFC starting to lead the way.

Parkin late last year initiated the Spirit of Carlton, a group of ex-coaches and players - including Geoff Southby, Ken Hunter, David Rhys-Jones, Robert Walls and Alex Jesaulenko - to raise money and mentor players, drawing from the Richmond Football Club's example, which Parkin admired.
