Average kicks per game?

Got to say Jack - the number of kicks are not that important - it's the quality of the kicks not the quantity.

And yesterday the impressive thing from where I was sitting was the 1% ers. E.g his tackling, blocking, sheperds and work rate in trying to keep the ball in out fwd 50.

Schultz is hardly a gun forward

not yet, but he will be
watch this space jack

Wont hold my breath, the guy is a DILL!

so was ablett, lockett, carey....all tossers, all idiots , but all legends

all i am saying one game doesnt make a career,
Look what happened to Jason Smith, kicked 5 on debut.
and that was it.
I may be wrong, Jack, but I'm pretty sure I was there the day Jason Smith made his debut. It was out at Waverley, and I even sat next to his parents. He hardly got a kick, let alone kicked 5 goals. Are you getting mixed up?

Sorry Jack, you are mixed up.It happens to all of us. Jason Smith was from Assumption, as you say, and KB was the coach, but he only played the one AFL game, and has never scored a goal - I just checked that. I remember his Dad saying to me that he didn't understand why Jason even got a game that day because his form didn't deserve it.
My hunch is that you are thinking of Justin Murphy's debut game, where he kicked 5 goals against Essendon at Princes Park. I was there that day too. I thought he was going to be a sensation.

I hope he has a great year so we can trade him. Kruezer, Bellchambers, Cotchin, Morton and afew others will be quality players from this years draft.

Ludicrous!

He's 21 and has taken 4 years to start finally showing something yet you want to take a punt on an unknown?

Exactly, why would you trade him away if he has a good year, if he has a good year and is only 21, he'll more than likely have a better year when he's 22, and by the time he's 25-26 he'll be a consistent dangerous forward.

Our problem is that we have no 25-26 year old core, let the group we have now play together for another 3-4 years and we'll be a consistent finals team, we may not be good enough to win a flag, but we need stability.

The Collingwood team that played in two premierships against the Lions, I didn't and still don't rate them as a team, but because they had been together for a few years and were all that peak age, they got lucky.

Jack could even be thinking of the great Terry Keays who i remember kicking 5 against Fitzroy at Princess Park.

Stood in the forward pocket in the outer with my Dad and remember Tezza flying high over the packs and winning the game in the last qtr for us.

Schulz takes flight
By Greg Lange,  for Richmond Football Club
April 5, 2007

“It’s been an up-and-down journey for me – I busted my shoulder last year and broke my ankle the year before,” Schulz says. “But once you get over your injury and get back out on the field, you realise why you put yourself through those situations and how you manage to get through it all.”

Schulz demontrated how well his recovery was going with a two-goal performance against Carlton last weekend. While he doesn’t like the game’s result, he is more-than-happy with how his body felt after the match.

“I feel like I am covering the ground a lot easier than what I have been able to in previous years,” he says. “I am still learning but I feel really good about this year even though the weekend went the way it did. I’m still very confident in our side and the way we are going. I can still see us having a very good year.”

While the club is aiming at finals footy, for Schulz, this year is about achieving simple goals.

“Considering the last two years have been really up and down for me, this year is about consistency,” he says. “I’ll try and hold a consistent spot in the side and give what I know I’ve got to give. It’s been frustrating not to have been able to do that over the last couple of years so it’s a really big goal for me this year.”
