We are not eligable for a priority pick this year.

We are actually at the start of the 2nd round.

If Fev leaves Carlton and lets say he does not go to the Dogs who are looking for a forward as McDougall has not lived up to their expectations. We can use trade Schulz as trade bait to get an outside midfielder in Giansiracusa from the Dogs. We already have Foley as one and with Cogs coming back next year we'll have 2 and perhaps with Polo 3. I think Gia would be a classy acquisition for us and he is also a great finisher and would complement the others in our midfield.

I agree in that Gian would be a classy inclusion but it should not be the typw of player we seek to improve our list structure.

1. We dont need another small skinny type
2. We dont need another older player
3. We dont need another outside player
4. We dont need another recycle

unless your name is Kevin Bartlett and your in your prime....PASS

Im pushing for Masten (considering the scum will use first pick on special K). I know we will pay over the odds for him but he is a player who specialises in bringing others into the game.

He has lightning quick hands in tight, excellent work ethic, is a natural leader and footballer, is an in and under ball magnet and will give us a potent midfield rotation along with cogs, tuck, polo and foley and maybe raines.

On the outside we have the likes of casserly, jon, lids, tambo, collins, edwards, connors and possibly meyer waiting to whisk the ball into the forward line.

We definately dont need any more pacy outsider types.

my gut feeling says Cotchin will be a tiger, but I actually think Masten is better for our needs, really need someone in there to help Foley and help get Blingers running game into gear

Gian is a good footballer but he's injury prone so pass. He hasn't played a full season in 4 years and copped another injury on the weekend. If we trade we want early picks in return.

The dud I was thinking of was K Bradley - no 6 pick in the draft
Bradley kicked 5 goals for Bendigo on the weekend lol :o

Believe it or not the Eagles have had a few first round flops. McDougall (5), Sampi (6), Haynes (16) and Travis Gaspar (14). Glass (11), Judd (3), Kerr (18) and Waters (11) were early gets.

The Herald-Sun say the Doggies want a big fish like Fev instead of a forward on the outer like Schulz.

Bulldogs look forward

THE Western Bulldogs are already scouting for a power forward, seven weeks before trade week.

"Certainly we're on the lookout for a power forward, and to do that you have to give up something," Eade said yesterday. "I think we've got to make considered decisions about our list. I don't want to get into it too publicly.

They will pay 100 per cent of the cap again next year and are prepared to chase a big fish rather than a player on the outer at another club who may not have an impact.

Keep him for the final year of his contract.

Hughes has shown nothing to suggest he'll come good.
Riewoldt not much better.
Richo another year older.
Kingsley likely gone.

Schulz stays in 08 and hopefully he finally comes good or he won't be there in 09.

At the very least he's insurance but I think he can still be a handy player for us. Perhaps not a the replacement for Richardson that we hoped but handy non the less.

Schulz has played 49 games in 5 years with 12 in 2007 kicking 14.14.

Do we persist with 22 year old Jay and keep him or do we try to trade him?

Keep, though if he wants to go home you might see what Adelaide would give for him. They are desperate for forward options and might give more than you would otherwise expect.

Our lack of KPPs will probably mean he's safe but he's a frustrating player to watch.

needs a new start.

Would b best for him, actually,to start fresh at a new club with more options up forward.

I like Jay but if we r to continue on the road we have claimed we are travelling, then he should be let go.

It could come back and bite us big time though..........maybe keep for 12 like wp said.....dunno

stuff

What would we get for Sarge if we did? Macgregor and Meesen has been mentioned from the Crows. I'd want more than a straight swap for Meesen :help.
