Ladder Predictor
« on: February 16, 2007, 10:16:36 PM »
I like lookiing at what other sides' supporters think where we'll finish, so here's Bigfooty's predictions.  Obviously, a lot of morons pick us 9th because they assume we belong there, but there's some others who don't pick their nose and use crayons to post who do rate us a chance.

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=272871

Here's mine:

Freo - overdue

W/C - good side

Bulldogs - best Melbourne team chance

Saints - Now or never

Adelaide - coming back to a power unfortunately

Richmond - Wishful thinking perhaps, but if the kids who held the team together last year can get some help from the seniors, ie return of Brown and Newmo, they should make finals.

Sydney - good ordinary team with lots of belief in themselves - no-one thought they'd win a couple of years ago except them

Melbourne - bye bye Neale
----------------------------------
Geelong - bye bye Bomber

Hawks - after pillagiing the draft stocks for last couple years will start their rise, but not make finals this year

Port - thereabouts

Collingwood - just don't rate them

Essendon - bye bye Sheeds

Brisbane - rebuilding

Carlton - rebuilding

North - bye bye Laidley

1. West Coast - best list by far

2. Freo - same as you Moi with the WA double.

3. Doggies - will improve again. Only ? is how their blokes coming back from knees will go.

4. Melbourne - they'll probably choke again come finals time but I think their list is pretty strong.

5. Swans - still a quality side and well coached

6. Saints - new coach but same old sainters tredding water.

7. Richmond - our time has come  :pray and 13 wins is realistic.

8. Essendon - gone for the quick fix which may pay off if Lloyd stays fit but they'll be just one year wonders with Hird, Michael, Johnsons, Fletcher all near the end.

9. Adelaide - hentschel iffy, biglands iffy, still reliant on their older champions who'll be another year older. Eventually something has got to give and statistically normally one top 4 side crashes.

10. Hawks - will improve and may be in the top 8 for part of the year but then just miss out

11. Geelong - bye bye Bomber. Just don't seem to have any major changes to their list which will make them improve under a coach who seems lost for new ideas. Still wishful thinking that Steven King will have an injury free year and star like when he was younger.

12. Port - thereabouts. Depends alot on Tredrea's fitness. Up and down throughout the year.

13. Brisbane - in transition and rebuilding.

14. Carlton - a threepeat of spoons would be great but I think they'll win more than 3 games this year as their kids a quality.

15. Collingwood - won't happen but they are simply crap. If they are still relying on Bucks to win games for them then they are in worse trouble. Geez that pic of him in the herald-sun was off today  :chuck. His face looked like a 80 year old freddy krueger.

16. Roos - bye bye Laidley. Instability off-field is destructive as we know and their list is ordinary due to short-term recruiting to try and keep competitive. On top of it Laidley comes from the Spud school of AFL coaching.

1. West Coast - young list = good list = super skills
2. Adelaide - last chance with this group I reckon. Question mark on Riccuito
3. Sydney - don't like the way they play at times -but above all else they play as a team
4. Dogs - barring injuries they should finish top 4
5. Melbourne - if the stars are aligned ;D
6. Freo - only becasue they get 11 homes games - real ones. But wouldn't be at all suprised if they fail
7. Richmond - been saying it since November - can't change now
8. St Kilda - I tossed a coin and I couldn't care less ;D
........................
9. Geelong - good-bye Bomber, will be their normal fizzer selves  :thumbsup
10. Port Adelaide - smokey
11. Brisbane - If one J Brown stays on the Park anything is possible
12. Essendon - don't want them to make it because of the way Lloyd is carrying on about how Hird must be
sent out the right way  :chuck who cares
13. Collingwood - they deserve it  :rollin
14. Carlton - will win at least 6 games which will be a good result. Murphy will be a star
15. Hawthorn - sometimes you've gotta go backwards to go forwards  :P
16. Kangaroos - crisis time at Arden st in more ways than 1.

I might change my selection now lol

If Cousins is out most of the year the Weagles won't finish top although they still should finish top 4 given their list.

no doubt in finals (no order):

Sydney
West Coast
Adelaide
Fremantle
Western Bulldogs

should be in top 8 (n.o)

St.Kilda
Geelong

battling for 8th spot (n.o)

Richmond
Melbourne
Port Adelaide
Hawthorn
Collingwood

no finals chance (n.o)

Brisbane
Essendon
Hawthorn
Carlton
Kangaroos

Here is how the Ladder predictor worked out for me!

West Coast 76
Fremantle    72
Adelaide      68
W Bulldogs     60
St Kilda    56
Richmond    52
Sydney          52
Melbourne    52
---------------------
Hawthorn    48
Geelong    48
Port Adel    40
Carlton    28
Bris Lions     20
Essendon    20
Collingwood     8
