Favourite Game

mine isn't a player, but the team ... there are many match's where players have killed it ... finals, are great and winning them is even better ....

hopefully some (finals) come this year that are memorable ...

but just 1 quarter i will always remember ... 2001, i think round 7 v North Melbourne ... at telstra dome (aka C.S) scores locked at 12.7.79 each ...

richmond didn't have a great record v North (probably still don't) back then, and richmond being north's bunny, i expected north to run over us ...

LM"F"AO ... boy was i wrong ... !

under danny, richmond kick like 7 goals to no score that last quarter to win BIG v North ...

just some of the goals that we kick, were like un-richmond like ... for example ...

back then joel bowden using the footy ...

i remember he kicking a goal from outside 50 on the run ... the tiger fans went nuts and i was laughing like no tomorrow ...

I WAS SO RAPT MANNNNN ....

and i went back home and watch THAT last quarter over and over again ...

Bruce McAnnvey said when joel was running and kick that goal ... "have a look at that go ... take a look at this Stuart Dew"

i never laughed with happiness for richmond then that ...

Richo finally killed Archer, and took this mark over everyone and goaled ...

just SPECIAL ...

and later ... back at that tape ... Robert Walls commentates ... " ... he just loves flying this kid ... "

great night and a good win over a good team ... big crowd ... every rare during danny's time ... but we did make the finals in 01 ...

but still that last quarter was just SPECIALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL !

Rd 4 1995
on a Monday nite we kick 6 goals in the first 6 minutes v the Roos and we were never headed.
Went on to win by 49 points.
Second Semi 1995 v Essendon. My favourite all time win that I watched live I think anybody who is a Richmond supporter and is old enough to
remember that game would have it in their top 3 barring old timers who still remember flags.
Round 11 1997
One week after losing to Melbourne who had a change of coach we beat the Pies by a goal on a Friday nite at the G with Richo kicking 5 and Benny Gale taking 4 marks on the members stand half back line to stop the Pies from getting the goal that would have levelled the scores.
Rd 22 1997 v Carlton at Optus Oval. We were 7 goals down in the 2nd quarter but came back to win by 2 points and keep the Blues from making the 8.
Rd 14 1994 a win by 7 points in Adelaide at Football Park after we were 3 goals down at half time. Chris Bond was in bed with a virus 2 days before the game but was best on ground. Richo kicked 5 and Start Maxfield kicked a goal on his left foot from the boundary that still lingers in my memory.
Rd 17 2001 the grudge match v the Dogs following the Knights Libba scuffle in rd 2. 16 points down 10 mins into the final quarter Richo pulls his finger out kicks two last quarter goals and we win by 2.
Rnd 4 2001. In front of 78,000 on a Friday nite we beat the Pies. 32 points up at 3 qtr time the Pies whittle our lead away to 1 point then Brodders comes off the bench to kick the 2 match winning goals to get us up by 15 points.
Rd 8 2004. Richo kicks 10 and we beat the Dogs to square our season at 4-4.
Rd 7 2005 Lead the Blues by 77 points at half time and go on to win by a club record 85 against the Blues.
My favourite win from last year Rd 6 against the Bombers we win by 2 points in Dean Polo's first game.

2 of the greatest feelings I have ever had in football.
That match at Princess park was farkin awesome - some Carlton feral in the dining area actually threw a chair out the window at the Tiger supporters giving them stick. Not much better feeling in footy than something like that game.
And anytime we pump the pies  :gotigers

Mothers day masacre

We  also beat the Pies on the Queens Birthday Monday in 1994 in front of 61,000
by 11 goals. Turned our season around and we won our next 5. Not a pretty game but
a win against the scum is always memorable as you put it.
