Summary:

* Michael Christian said it was a low key preseason from us.

* Plough said it was natural that all sides say they are having their best preseason as you need to keep on improving otherwise you go backwards.

* Top 15 idea keeps motivation up through summer.

* McGuane said our execution and poise needed improving based on last year. Wallace agreed. The whole purpose of us doing more game simulation training.

* McGuane also said we missed a key defender - Polak and Thursty. Wallace said Polly was underdone development wise when he first arrived and he has improved since. Still probably 2-3 years before we see his best.

* Forward line - Richo and Kingsley at CHF and FF. Third tall - from Polly, Cleve and Schulz. Browny, Petts, krak and Harts as our small-mid forwards.

* Cleve has played at CHB during preseason for his development. More a natural forward like polly. Not many young talls come through the system as backmen. Most are forwards. So we basically need to teach them how to play in defence.

* Our Improvement will need to come from our 3-4 year guys - Lids, Tambo, Meyer and Harts.

* New rules - we've been working on them during the summer with them and tactics to use. Hardest thing to judge is the judgement of the umpires.

The second interview in a row I get the impression Micky McGuane has now a bit of a soft spot for the Tiges. He seems to still have a keen interest in us after his time at Punt Rd.

Brian Royal didn't come across as a fan of the new rule changes. He said today the hands in the back rule has been the hardest to handle as all the boys have been use to being allowed to hold off an opponent with the hands since they were kids. He said the best players over the years were highly skilled at it.

Isn't Luke McGuane a nephew of Mick McGuane. Maybe that's another reason he has a soft spot for us.
