Richmond has promoted Troy Simmonds, Chris Newman and Mark Coughlan to a revamped six-man senior players’ leadership group for the 2007 season.

Veteran pair Matthew Richardson and Darren Gaspar have stood down to enable the group to take on a younger, fresher look.

Simmonds, Newman and Coughlan join join captain Kane Johnson, vice-captain Nathan Brown and deputy vice-captain Joel Bowden as the Tigers’ on-field leaders in ’07.

it goes on to say that howat and foley are also in the junior leadership group!!!
well done to both, one still a rookie  and the other an ex rookie.

just goes to show that rookie players can make it if they work hard enough!

The full junior leadership group is:

Deledio
Foley (well done young fella)
Raines (and No Moi had no vote ;D)
Howat
Tambling

Well done to all the young blokes  :clapping

And IMV I'm leaning towards wanting to see our next captain come out of the 5 named in the junior group than from the senior group. Out of the above 5 I can see a 10 year Captain of the club

What, no Polo?

Polo probably just missed out because he's only had one year of AFL footy. Next year Cogs might drop out to concentrate on just being right to play allowing Lids to move up to the senior leadership group and Polo into the junior leadership group.
