TELSTRA will show up to four games of AFL live on mobile phones and hopes to also screen rugby league games on handsets after it finalised an online digital media and sponsorship package across three sports worth as much as $170 million.
"With AFL you will be able to see live and exclusive matches on your mobile phone. And if I miss the footy live I will be able to get replays ranging from quarter-time to half-time to full matches."
For non-live matches, a two-minute highlights package will be available every 12 1/2 minutes.
Using these news services, Mr Milne's main strategy is what he refers to as "pick me" or "pick BigPond". "If you like NRL you should like me, if you like AFL you should like BigPond," Mr Milne said.
