It's good to see we are keeping our connection with the Mildura area going for the third year in a row - first the community camp, then the Essendon charity match in memory of those poor kids who were tragically killed and now the Pies practice match. Should get full house too.

And with Rusling gone for the year (poor kid has done his shoulder) they've lost their replacement FF for Tarrant.

I walked past the Pies training at Gosch's paddock today on the way to work. Interesting watching another team train. They were playing a pseudo intra-club game which was play on at all costs and use the width of the oval. They always had an out on the wing for a cornered player. They then try to centre the ball into the central corridor. If they couldn't link up and run inside 50 for a shot on goal they'd just bomb it long to Travis Cloke and Rocca. Pretty basic predictable stuff which doesn't need the high precision footskills that we need but needs teammates running to the right spots to support one another. Malthouse would also pull them up occasionally if they made a wrong decision but skill errors were just play on. They also had minimal tackling (more gaelic football corralling).

We play the Pies in Round 3.

Is it best to get a mental advantage over them by a victory or is it best to play our cards pretty close to your chest?

Stick to preparing for round 1. The scoreboard will take care of itself if our skill level and decision making can improve. Both sides won't show their cards.

Most importantly no more injuries  :pray

Flea said on SEN that the Tiges fly up to his neck of the woods Mildura tomorrow morning.

The game is specially on to raise money towards drought relief.

Yeah and I believe they are flying back tomorrow night (late) after the game

I don't really care if we win or lose - anything to lull the Pies (and their fans) into thinking that are better than what they actually is good for football :thumbsup
