WP said Harts hurt his ankle.

Coburg has the breeze in the 3rd. 2 goals to us already.

Agree X about Moore and McGuane being in front of Harts as they have shown improvement over summer playing in the backline. Jacko IMO would be on par with Harts. Both struggling to find a definitive position where they can play and our younger guys are already way ahead of both.

true mt, but i reckon jacko is just ahead only because harts seems to be far more injury prone than jacko, but a fair call

The score could get ugly as Bendigo have the breeze in the last.

True Harts is more injury prone.

WP will give a proper summary of goalkickers and best players later tonight.

In the second half JON, Hyde and Jacko got goals.

JON good off the half-back line.
Riewoldt played CHB  and Hughes FB in the second half.
Connors got a fair bit of footy but his disposal let him down.
Edwards was on and off the bench.
Meyer excellent first half but went missing after half-time.
Hyde was so-so.

WP said there was an all-in-brawl just before the end of the game when Matty White shepharded a Bomber off the ball. In the ruckus Jason Cloke allegedly head-butted White.

WP also said Collins didn't play but doesn't know why.

The score wasn't a true reflection of the contest. The difference was one bad quarter (second) when Bendigo kicked 7 goals to just 1 point. Bendigo's bigger bodies which were too strong for the young Coburg side. Bendigo had mostly senior VFL players although Nash and Neagle did play for them.

Coburg   3.2    3.3   6.5   10.7-67
Bendigo  1.1    8.7  10.9  17.10-112

Thanks WP for the updates  :cheers  :thumbsup  :clapping  :bow

I know it's part of their footy education but doesn't Coburg have any other talls that we have to play both Riewoldt and Hughes in defence?  ???

In the ruckus Jason Cloke allegedly head-butted White.

What a dill  :rollin

Coburg -v- Bendigo:

Goalkickers: Joe Gazzo 3, Edwards, Meyer, Jackson, Oakley-Nicholls, Hyde, White  and Sewell all 1 each

Best: RFC Boys: Oakley-Nicholls, Connors, Meyer (1st half), White, Clingan Coburg Boys: Gazzo, Anderson, Carnell, Tom Simpson.

Summary:

As I told MT and he has posted:

Meyer: was on fire in the 1st half. All aspects of his game was very good - especially the defensive stuff. Took a beautiful mark in the 2nd and hit the ground running - looked sensational unfortunate the kick was a little off and missed its target. Later in the 2nd took an absolute "speccy". His 2nd half was a bit disappointing - not much impact at all

Reiwoldt: not a good day. Struggled up forward partly becaus ehe always seemed to have 2 defenders on him. Having said that he seemed to lead wide at times and 1 defender was usually filling the hole. Spent the past qtr at CHB I think to improve his defensive game - which is a good idea IMO - at times he didn't work hard enough to keep the ball in the Burger Fwd50.

Edwards: looks very classy when he gets it but not much impact. On and off the bench a fair bit

Jackson: what to do, where to play him these are the questions - hardly noticed him

JON: very pleasing display. Played off the HBF and got better as the game went on. Backed himself a number of times and gave excellent drive through the mid-field. Disposal was very good. His goal in the 3rd was a gem

Hyde: started so well but as the game wore on he flashed in and flashed out. No great impact that you would think a player of his standard would have (think of Paddy Bowden & Tambling last week looking a grade above and you'll get my drift - I hope :P)

Hartigan: went off 10 minutes into the first. Started the game with his knee strapped and I overheard ;D that was the reason he came off - knock to the knee - nothing serious didn't want to take any chances :thumbsup

Hughes: sporting the shorn look - Cleve had a difficult day against young Jay Neagle (talk about looking like your old man :o) - looked better down back as the game went on.

White: despite the howls from the crowd (well the folks in front of me) who were calling for him to be reported for charging in the last minute of the game (more on that shortly) Matty had an OK game. Did alot of run and carry.

Connors: another of the shorn brigade. Would have been BOG if it wasn't for his disposal which at times let him down badly. Tough and great attack on the ball - needs to improve the kicking

Clingan: I was impressed - didn't really notice him the previous week but this week I did and thought he did some nice things - disposal good! Needs to bulk up though

The last minute: now as I said the folks in front of me reckon Matt White should have been reported for charging. Now as far as I know a "hip 'n' shoulder" is not a charge but these days who knows ::) But Matt's bump was probably a fraction (and its debatable) more than 5 metres from the ball but none the less a mellee that took place after wards - you know pushing and shoving but Jason Cloke  :wallywink what can I say - it happened in front of me and well let's just say I'd be surprised if he aint in some trouble - and right in front of the camera too double  :wallywink think Phil Carmen way back when and you'll get the drift (all alledgedly of course ;D
