Summary

* State of Origin - Always thought it's in the best interest of the players. Playing against better players and improving their education. Always encouraged West, Brad Johnson, Rohan Smith to play SOO at the dogs. Never found playing SOO reduced the length of a player's career.

* It shouldn't be the coaches decision. AFL need to do it if they are serious about it.

* SOO has never cropped up in conversation b/w Plough and a player but like the International rules he'd be happy for Lids and Raines to play SOO and mix with the elite of the competition.

* Asked if you can access preseason form? It's very difficult. Compare us to Carlton. They've had their full squad which gave them continuity of playing together on top of winning form. On the other hand we, due to injury, haven't been able to put our best side on the park once yet. So it's hard to get a line on our form. We've won 1 from 4 but had young sides playing against more mature teams. We, like St Kilda, still have question marks on form going into round 1.

* In a race to see if Simmo and Knobel, both ruckman, will be available. Richo will play.

* Browny - second in particular good on the weekend. It takes time and confidence to get back.

* Lids & Tambling - time for these boys from the 2004 draft to start stepping up. Not disappointed with any of their progress and you judge them after 4 years. Half way through their journey. Time for Lids and Tambo to move into the middle and be able to impact.

* Patto - 22 possies, 11 marks, 15 hitouts in about 60% of gametime. Did a pretty good job against Everitt and Jolly the week before too. Taller guys take longer but with more license and authority to ruck he's come on.

* Polak - Wanted him for CHB but with the injuries to Richo, Kingsley we needed him up forward to kick a score. Will play up and back throughout the year.

* Rookie promotions - Cogs is out and Petersen (OP) won't play until second half of the year. Have the ability to promote 2 rookies. All 3 - Howat, Graham and King - have put their hand up but we'll probably go with 1 or 2. The promotions will be made next week after sitting down with the match committee and determining the make up of the side. No point elevating a player that won't play.

* Round 1 - Healthy rivalry b/w the two clubs. Both clubs have been down so it'll be great to see both clubs rising. Rivalry is something that's great about our game.

* It's in best interest of players to play State of Origin. Suspension for players that didn't play for no good reason. Not a coaches decision.
* Difficult to get formline. Carlton has had full squad through 5 weeks, we've never had a full strength squad this pre-season.
* Race to see whether Simmonds and Knobel available for round 1. Richo definite.
* Tambling been given more responsibility. Time for the 5 to step up. Terry happy with 5 picks (top 20) progress.
* Patto played only 60% of game and dominated.
* Polak played forward and back to cover our 'outs'.
* Not giving anything away in regards to which rookie gets elevated. Can put 2 up if need be. Decision next week.
* Hopes for good crowd to round 1.

Did you try copying and pasting the link X into WMP? That's what I do.

If Knobel is being linked in with Simmo then it sounds like both won't play round 1. Come on down Gus!

Time for Lids and Tambo to move into the middle and be able to impact.

Let's hope Plough sticks by this. Lids stuck in a BP is a waste. Same as Meyer on a HFF.

As for State of Origin - loved it in the 80's when we were crap but I would be doing this ->  :banghead if Lids, Rainesy or any Tiger got seriously injured.

Microsoft's advice (C00D11B3: Encountered a network problem)

To verify your proxy server settings

    * On the Tools menu, click Options, click the Network tab, and then verify your settings in the Streaming proxy settings area.

Notes

    * If you do not know what your proxy server settings should be, on the Network tab, select a protocol, click Configure, and then select Autodetect proxy settings or Use proxy settings of the Web browser (available for HTTP protocol only).
    * If you are connected to the Internet through a dial-up connection, you might not be able to choose the proxy server. For more information, consult your Internet service provider or network administrator.

Why do I get error C00D11B3 when I try to stream content?

Error message: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct."

This error occurs for one of the following reasons:

• The Web server that stores the file is not available. (For example, the server is busy or not online.) In this case, you can try to play the file again later, when the server is available.

• Your computer is not connected to the local area network (LAN) or to the Internet. Connect to the network or Internet, and then try again.

• The proxy settings for the Player are not configured properly. See the first question for more information (see below *).

• Your firewall is preventing the Player from connecting to the Internet, or the Player is set to work offline. See the previous question for more information.

• The Web page from which you are trying to stream content requires that cookies be enabled. For more information about changing the privacy settings in Internet Explorer to enable cookies, see Microsoft Internet Explorer Help.

--------------

* First question

Usually, this error indicates that the proxy settings for Windows Media Player are not configured properly.

To verify that your proxy settings are correct

1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options.

2. In the Options dialog box, on the Network tab, in the Streaming proxy settings area, verify your settings. If you don't know what your proxy settings should be, select a protocol, click Configure, and then in the Configure Protocol dialog box, select either Autodetect proxy settings or Use proxy settings of the Web browser. (The latter setting is available for the HTTP protocol only.)

3. Repeat step 2 for each protocol that is displayed in the Streaming proxy settings area.

In some cases, this error can occur if the Player tries to receive the stream by using the User Datagram Protocol (UDP), but for some reason it can't. You may be able to fix the error by turning off this option in the Player.

To turn off UDP streaming

1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options.

2. In the Options dialog box, on the Network tab, in the Streaming protocols area, clear the UDP check box.

No probs X.

Precise foot skills out of the backline is important but as Harry mentioned in another thread we seem to play our most skilled ballwinners in defence - Joel, Lids, Rainesy and Newy  :-\.
