according to the footy show, darren the tosser goldspink wont be umpiring anymore due to lack off fitness

An ump has done his job when you don't notice him and he hasn't had any influence on the game. I didn't think Goldspink was a bad ump or as bad as a lot supporters thought but his constant backchat to players while miked up made him the centre of the show when he shouldn't have been.

Sorry to rain on your parade X...

Umpire Goldspink wont be umpiring the AFL in round 1 because of the said fitness issues (1 or 2 maybe in the same boat) but

Umpire Goldspink certainly is still umpiring - he was one of the 3 umpires in yesterday's Coburg -v- Werribee practice game. There was another AFL umpire doing the game as well but I am not sure which one

Yep, he's still on the panel. Apparently got an injury atm.

Heard a funny call to SEN - "Now that Goldspink is out injured, can Essendon promote a rookie?"  ;D
