Peterson adjusting to southern life

Neesham believes Richmond have drafted “something special” in Carl Peterson and has no trouble listing his many attributes.

“He could be a gifted forward, could play midfield or at half-back, and he’s a fantastic mark,” Neesham said. “He’s a brave player and has the same intent as a guy like James Hird when he goes for a grab – only eyes for the ball.”

Unfortunately, none of these attributes are likely to be seen by Tigers fans until mid-season due to Peterson’s struggle with osteitis pubis.

“I’ve had it for a couple of years and haven’t quite got over it but I’m working on that now,” Peterson said. “Watching the boys put the boots on during pre-season has been frustrating.”

Richmond’s main aim for Peterson this season is to heal the osteitis pubis. Head fitness coach Matthew Hornsby says the club is in no rush to return Peterson to competitive football before the middle of the season.

Don't think so wayne - IIRC he's under 6foot but has an amazing leap :clapping :thumbsup

well Neesham wasn't a great coach for fremantle ...

but he has said “something special” and has "James Hird ball instincts" ...

if just that last bit is correct ... i would be f***ing rapt !

he does seem exciting ... and i am guessing clubs didn't take him because of his injuries ...

but if he played last year or the year before he must of been injured late ???

he said he has had O.P for a while ... which if you have ever had O.P that is true and takes ages to heal ...

trust me ... it does !

Its a big difference from playing Colts to the AFL seniors.

Hopefully he goes well but he is still very skinny with a very light frame. They should have him pumping the weights while is out of action. I am sure that they have, well i hope so.
