The Doggies' are gone for the year. The Aker experiment didn't work to cover up their deficiencies. Topping up with recycled players rarely works as the RFC knows all too well.

At the bounce yesterday and spotted this and knew it was heading towards disaster and pointed it out to my Hawks following mate before it happened.  8)

When Motlop nailed the goal to put them 1 point down with 47 seconds left I watched Roughy run all the way down to full back to act as a spare man with most of the other Hawks players.  And there was Chaplin standing all alone on the defensive side of the wings not knowing what to do until the Port bench yelled to him to sprint to the offensive side.  So he did and stood as a loose man at the ball up on the corner of the centre square while Roughy stood by himself in the "hole."  After Brogan's thump it was on its way to him already so I think Brogan knew exactly what he was doing with direction of the punch, Chaplin got the possession, was by himself and on the 50 and bombed it long to Ebert.

Goal.  Winners.

Sometimes the flood doesnt pay off . . . .

By the Hawks telling Roughy to not worry about his man Port had a spare to quickly work out how best to use him.  They did it.

Very very smart team play by Port Adelaide.

As Clarkson was an assistant under Williams at Port you would've thought they each would know what the other was up to. Well Williams did lol.

Our form line can't be too bad going by last night's game and our game against the Eagles at Subi. The Eagles after being 28 points down at quarter time just killed the Saints who totally died off after half-time tonight. Whoever plays on Gehrig (Joel?) next week is going to have to copy Glass and run Fraser up the ground and off his feet.

Fiora is still Fiora even if he's had a good year. Disappears under pressure.

Your a bit harsh on Fiona arent you. He has played every game for the saints this year and he actually plays an important part at the saints. Not his fault he got drafted where he did.
Did some great stuff last night, yes he did have a bad turnover but if you attend Richmond games, you would be used to seeing turnovers

Yeah maybe I am a bit harsh but that turnover summed Fiora up. It wasn't that he turned it over, it was just such a lazy kick in defence at a crucial stage of the game. No intensity when the game is up for grabs. Mind you he had plenty of mates in Saint jumpers.

It's now the percentage war Carlton are trying to win.
They managed to drop their percentage to 74 today making them 15th on the ladder - Dees 77
Freo are 37 points up in 3rd quarter.  Expecting a blowout and then game on  :nope next week between the two  :thumbsup

Some freakish stuff in the other game today.

The Hawks kicked 16.10 to 2.4 after the doggies lead at half-time. Hodge  34 possies and 6 goals  :o

How do you kick 2.11 like Buddy today  ???  :gobdrop.

Port knocked off Geelong with the winning goal just 3 seconds from the end. You're not premiers yet Catters  ;).

It'll be another year of watching the Pies get knocked out in first week of the finals. The most overrated side in the comp. It must be so easy to make the finals when you play the bottom 8 sides 13 times (the most in the AFL) ::).

Congrats to the Roos on making the top 4. More deserving of it than soft serves like the Pies and Hawks who'll get knocked out first week of the finals.
