Who gets Goodes?

Paul Roos is pumping up Goodes to hit form against us. Who should get the job on him?

If a player is out of form, there is no better tonic than a game against the Tigers.

We can even make Ottens look good!

Who should get him? I think Polo should be given first try, then possibly McGuane.

I agree with X. Deledio for mine. I don't think Polo has the leg speed to foot it with goods all game. I watched goods against the eagles and he was very quiet. If we stick to him like glue he won't be able to get back into form. If we give him space then look out...He'll run right through us.

Before last weeks game i would have said Lids, now id like to see a tag team on him of Lids and Tiv, Not sure if Tiv has enough to go all game but he stuck to Stephens pretty well.

why would they tag a tagger?

I see Kirk taking a tuck or even a foley.

With a Suga gettign the challenge of Goodes

kirk isnt just a tagger, he is a tagger but also the number one midfielder that sydney has,
yes he tags, but he also gets many hard balls out and sets up play from most stoppages.
kirk is by far their best onballer, apart from goodes, but goodes is more a utility, he can do everything. goodes probabably is teh only player in the afl that could play in every single position, but sugar is too slow for him, therefore , lids will have a go 1st, and after playing on goodes in the praccy match he should be better prepared

The difficult part is when Goodes does the ruckwork around the ground or is pushed forward. Size and pace wise Paddy would probably be the closest match but he's not reknowned for his defensive skills let alone a tight tag.

I think Sugar or Tivs will tag Jude Bolton with Lids or Tambo on Kennelly.

Polo is fast becoming our best tagger so I initally thougt him. But I agree that Lids should play on him, at least for a quarter so that he can learn how hard true stars of the game work, and eventually he can get there one day and have a brownlow or two around his neck  :cheers

Deledio played on him in Canberra in the trial game and Goodes was Sydney's best that day. I'd play Kane Johnson on him.

I think sugar should take goodes he is our best negater and he has to stick to him like glue as given an inch goodes will take a mile and destroy us ..i rather have lids in a postive attacking role utilising his pace.

Agree TT. Let Lids play and tell him to go for (long) goal. Firing off a torp would send the crowd off  :thumbsup.
