Summary

* Gas was asked about training on hard grounds. Umm ... ahh .... not really sure what Plough was talking about lol. The journo then explained Plough had said about the players being sore and suffering from stress related injuries. Gas responded saying one is Browny with a stress fracture .... oh and a young guy with a ankle. Possibly the hard grounds might be a cause of the stress fractures.

*  It'll be hard without a key ruckman out there against a formidable opponent in Sydney with two quality ruckman which makes it hard for our midfield. We'll have to get by and work hard together to get through.

* Patto to ruck again on Saturday with back-up from Polak, Paddy and a few others rotating. Similar to last week. Not having Simmo who was great for us last year does make it hard.

* Polak - been very handy for us. Provides us with that versatility - playing ruck, back and forward. He's reliable and works all over the ground. Very handy pick up.

* What was doing Sugar at the start of the game? It was such a clean clearance and kick that Gas said he turned to Newy and thought he was at the wrong end of the ground for a split second (laughs). Journo said it was more surprising given the captain does the toss. Gas thought it quite bizarre at the time.

* Why we lost from nearly 5 goals in front? We went away from what got us in front. We started to go wide and slowed the game down when in the first half we played attacking footy. Carlton gained the momentum and before we knew they were back in the game and ran over us.

* Instruction comes from the players and the coaching staff. Depends on the circumstances. The players do it automatically. Balancing act between scoring that goal or two that gets you further in front and defending against a goal or two that puts them back in the game.

* Gas' form - "not too bad".
