Any latest news on Jack Riewoldt's injury?
« on: April 08, 2007, 06:58:58 PM »
WP mentioned it looked like Jack had done an ankle late in the game but some on BF are saying it could be a knee  :help.

Any latest news on what it is and how severe it is?

I wouldn't trust some posters on bigfooty, so many of them are full of poo

I hope so, the last thing we need is another long term injury.
Let's just hope it's nothing too serious. :pray

Weaver says Jack had his foot in a bucket of ice so it's either a badly rolled ankle or a broken foot  :-\. Not that he was pushing for senior selection but we just can't get any luck with ligament and bone injuries especially to our talls. It'll also push him back in his development. On the positive side he'll have time to get into the gym and build up his strength.

Star recruit Riewoldt hurt as Bullants run hot
09 April 2007   Herald-Sun
Geoff Poulter

IT WAS a sobering day for the Tigers - Coburg and Richmond - when the VFL side crashed by 61 points at Coburg City Oval yesterday and crack recruit Jack Riewoldt was carried off with a rolled ankle.

Officials hope Riewoldt will miss no more than two matches, but a more accurate assessment will be made after scans today.

"He just rolled his ankle," Coburg football manager Salvo Giardina said last night.

"He will probably have some scans tomorrow and we'll take it from there.

"At this stage it doesn't seem serious. The trainers don't think he has broken anything or torn anything.

"He came down on it and they iced it after the game."

Bullants thrash Coburg as Riewoldt hurts ankle
Sean Cusick | April 9, 2007

More worrying for Richmond fans was the ankle injury that forced young gun Jack Riewoldt to be carried from the field in the last quarter.

Riewoldt, who had played forward early and then centre half-back on Digby Morrell, appeared to sprain his ankle on the wing. He was carried off by two runners and sat on the bench with his left foot in a bucket of ice.

Richmond football director Greg Miller was straight onto his mobile phone, presumably to report the injury. Scans today should discover if there is any structural damage.

It looked like he just rolled it trying to turn. Topped off a pretty ordinary day for Jack

Can't blame the gorund it was in excellent condition considering how some of the VFL venues are struggling

Miller said Riewoldt may just miss a week. Let's hope that's all it is.

Thanks for that ilovelids. Good news. If it was anything serious then Jack wouldn't have been running laps.
