I actually think we are playing some decent football ATM.

Considering that in the last 3 games we have gotten ourselves into winning positions. I am just lamenting our lack of steel and resolve to close out the deal. And I think it is the senior players who really need to step up. In the last couple games, besides Tivs it has pretty much been the younger brigade holding the team together ala Lids, Tambling, Foley, Newman.

What we need to do is put players like Kane and J Bowden on notice to step up and show the kids the way, rather then lead them to the mentality that close enough is good enough.

Bleeding some youngsters would be another thing we should do. Edwards looks harder at the ball than most of the players we have in our 22 ATM and he is still only 70 kg  :o . Gotta bring back Thirsty as soon as he is ready because he has enthusiasm and doesn't drop his head. Riewoldt (is he injured  ???) should also be brought in because he has one thing our team is lacking and that is confidence.

C'mon Tiges, I ain't ready to give up in the season yet  :gotigers

Exactly!  :thumbsup

Where do we need to improve, where do you start ?

Very briefing, I will have a shot.

1/game plan stinks. Continually go wide and dont use the corridor.
2/need a proper captain who is a leader, big mistake in what has happened in that area.
3/ Forward structure is a disgrace.  Schultz should never be going for the same ball as Richo. It Schultz brain dead.?  Time and time again they both went for the same ball. Schultz should be running in the oppposite direction and to suck his man out of the contest, instead poor Richo has the third man up against him all the time. This is real basic stuff and they cant get it right. ALL FORWARDS NEED TO SPREAD.

4/ Please someone get Richo and get him back into his kicking routine, last night was a disgrace. If we have skills coaches, they must be currently on annual leave.

5/ Polak. Plays the game like Jane. Had one kick for the entire game last nite.  Gee we were only playing Collingwood

6/ Tivendale, he is actually playing ok  but the message that should be given to him is to play in the 50 metre square and dont go chasing kicks around the boundary.
As a team we need to be ""straightened up"" and therfore you need to play your ball carriers down the middle, not runing around the boundary line all game.( ala Marc Murphy from carlton doesnt chase kicks wide)

7/ If the game is slipping away, make moves that are unpredictable.
Last night early in the third quarter, Bowden should of been pushed forward- Schultz on Roccs or something like that ?

I could go on and on but whats the point.? People say that i sour grapes , the only thing that is sour is the RFC I am afraid to say.
We have no player depth, our recruits arent up to it( Now where is Kent K ?) and we are poorly coached I what I have seen so far this year.
We are currently headed in the wrong direction, if you think different, thats fine by me, everyone is entitled to there opinion although you wont be finding much enjoyment in the sport that you love

What do we need to do?

Simple, play good footy for four quarters.

Without a doubt, like I said we have been able to get the deal on the table, just haven't been able to close it. Good analogy isn't it lol  :rollin

terrys game plan does not allow us too.

no one can get settled  and we have far too many rotations, far too many

once we change our patheti game plan and play blokes in their rightful positions then maybe we can play 4 quarters

our midfield burns up more energy running on and off the bench cos of rotations. as soon as foley blingers etc are running hot they get rested cos of rotations

pathetic coaching. i didnt see swan thomas lockyer been rested ever 10 minutes

wallace take a hike

I thought the Schulz/Richo clash and the subsequent aftermath was all Richo's fault.
Schulzy was coming in from the side and Richo from behind. Richo should have seen him coming. He was the one with vision on the contest, Schulz has not got eyes on the back of his head. He has done this before to any unlucky soul who dares to try and take a mark in 'his' forward 50. He has got no peripheral vision and is selfish, and should be dropped for that I reckon.
If he had vision, and was unselfish, he would've taken presti out of the contest.

the overall plan is for Richo to be one out in goal square.
he doesnt need opposition players folding back because players such as Schultz and Krak cant follow a SIMPLE BLOODY game plan and push up high  ::)
Would have dragged these players last night but they kick a few goals and everyone thinks there heroes, guess what? , we LOST and will continue to lose if what happens last night keeps going

I want Wallace to come out and spray them publicly. Tell us that is isnt acceptable and that heads will roll.

Yeah I have to say I would like to see that.

You forgot one thing, X - our supporters turn on our club because they have no balls to tough it out and hence becomes a vicious circle.

I agree with that Moi - I know I've just posted on another thread about I am getting to the stage of not caring anymore and at the moment that's how I feel.

But I do agree our supporters have turned on the club over the years and every time we've done that we've  ended up in a worse position.

Having said that one of things about this "turning on our own" mean people do care. What do we want? People caring or not caring - another vicious circle perhaps

with all due respect jack, no wonder you got the arse

the fact of the matter is richo should stay out of shultzs way, not the other way atround. Shulz has all the tools to be everything richo is not, and that is a effective efficient forward. Even after 700 goals, I reckon we are better off without him in the forward line, if shultz gets it at least he isa better than 70% chance of converting.

If richo had converted his opportunities, we would have won last night, and that is a fact

Nah got it ar$e about Jacky.  Richo is of value to the side now as decoy forward.  Schulz is a very clever forward and gets into dangerous positions which Richo never has.  Schulz also kicks straight.  Wallace has to sit Richo down and get him to lead away from the square or the corridor and instruct his mids to kick to Jay.  Classic Richo centrism last night right at the start of the second quarter. We are of course 20 points up and a ball goes to half forward where Krak and Tambling are up against one Magpie.  Maxwell sees this and peels off Jay and goes third man up,  Jay a la Fev and lloyd drops off the pack and makes space 25 metres out on HIS OWN STRAIGHT IN FRONT. Krakour picks up the loose ball on 50 with no pressure and...........................kicks wide across goal to Richo at 40 in a one on one - absolute madness.  Right throughout the game Jay found space and was ignored... and he can kick.  If Richo can draw the best defender and take him out of the contest he has done his job.  Now if other sides pick up on this and move to cover Jay - Richo can take advantage of this and do his thing -- (but kick straight for a change)

Learn to attack the game, we can start playing like the Swans when we are good enough and that is a fair way off.
Once again as I mentioned in another thread this ring-a-rosy poo just doesn't cut the mustard with me.
I would rather see us get done by 10 goals attacking the footy and the game 100% of the time we are out there that watch some of what was going on last night.

I know it sounds silly but how about implementing the Junior footy standard have a spine kick long down the guts and have crumbers at the big fellas feet. run run run kick loooong FFS ....
Cannot be any worse than what we are watching at the moment

How many times do guys like Richo and shulz get spoiled and there is no-one in coee of them to crumb, we have the players to do this so where are they.

Ohh and sack Johnson and give the captaincy to someone positive and decisive. :banghead :banghead

Didn't have you in mind when I said that, X, but defend yourself if you must.

Everyone has a right to feel peeed off at the moment, and so am I, but there isn't a darn thing you can do about it unless Wallace walks away from a contract and that's not going to happen.

And there is that off chance that things are just out of his control.  Do we have the right players?  Probably not.  Have we recruited well?  Only time will tell.  Will we go backwards before we get to where we want to be?  More probably yes than not.  Is Wallace's coaching up to scratch?  Probably is, but does he have thick heads receiving his messages?  More than likely.

You can get peeed off with the club all you lot like, but you won't help the situation.  If everyone demands Wallace's head and turns us into this vicious cycle once again, knowing full well that our players aren't up to it - which most of you have been telling us over the years, but apparently that's Wallace's fault  ::) - then say tata now to the Tiges.

Can't see who started this thread about forgetting the negativity, but I  :clapping it.  So sick of the pain like everyone else, but I don't see too many options available to us at the moment of changing it unless it comes from within, and that includes not only the coach, the players but the supporters as well.

The bloke I sit with told me last week I was nauseatingly positive about everything.  If I wasn't, and had an attitude like some of you lot, i'd never go to the footy again.
