Hutchy alleges the Saints aren't happy with Thomas having a few beers with players and talking contracts.

Ricky Nixon on Riewoldt and whether he will be at Stkilda next year.  NO COMMENT walks away
Ricky trying to bump up Nick's new contract.

You'd expect Brissy to be favourite if he does leave.

Getting a Riewoldt would mean we could swap Schulz to one of the Adelaide clubs or anyone looking for a key forward and get something decent in return. Another player or a pick. I still firmly believe that RFC is obligated to its members to get a star player through the door via the PSD if we finish last.

Riewoldt turns 25 in October. One thing to consider given we are a few years away at least from becoming a top side.

They'd have trading currency, but we have Browny and his cousin.

Though, i'm not overly concerned if we get him or not. I wouldn't care either way.

I heard today that infact we could be more interested in Dal Santo rather than Riewoldt but who knows. Maybe jacko would know more.

I only caught the end of Greg Denham with KB yesterday but if I heard properly he mentioned there's been rumours where we've been linked to Riewoldt. Yet today in his article he only says "it is known that several clubs have inquired as to Riewoldt's intentions beyond this season."

Nick Riewoldt is on Footy Classified tonight (@ 10.35pm). They say they are going to quiz him over where he'll be next year.

Jack's cousin and Dal Santo to remain at the Saints.

Quote
NICK Riewoldt and Nick Dal Santo will reject huge offers from rival clubs to stay at St Kilda, with Riewoldt tipped to easily cross the magical $1 million mark in football earnings.

Riewoldt's contract, which is expected to span three years, will centre around football and marketing components.

For example, he would receive an estimated $700,000 football contract which will be counted in the salary cap and up to $300,000 in marketing which is not included.

Personal endorsements and sponsorships from companies such as Toyota, Nike, Vodafone and the National Australia Bank, add another estimated $200,000.

Dal Santo, the subject of interest from several clubs, is in the range of $450,000-$500,000 a year from football alone, and is likely to include incentives such as best-and-fairest finishes, All Australian representation and even Brownlow Medal performances.

yes, but that is not his primary role in the team.

his role is to be an avenue to goal, not neccessarily the goal-kicker
