nick a sook yes, and his just another richo, even though he kicked str8 v us, he is an unreliable marking machine that rarely demolishes teams on the scoreboard

yes, but that is not his primary role in the team.

his role is to be an avenue to goal, not neccessarily the goal-kicker

true , got me there

I seriously hope that Sarge pulls his head in and starts making use of his talents.

Imagine a forward line like this:

Brown, Schulz, Clever
Peterson, Jack, Blingers  :o

ditto. watch the VFL ox, you might see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

BTW, IIRC there Coburg's match is on telly on Satday. If Jack doesn't get called up you will get to see him in action  :thumbsup

Yes boys I do.

He plays good VFL footy but so do many others who ultimately end up being labeled as Duds
that can't produce at senior level.

His one senior appearance was a non event.

I am yet to be convinced.

Apart from Staff saying we need him because he's vocal I can't see anything else yet.

Pros: Footy smarts, excellent reader of the play, good skills, good mark, good work ethic. All up a natural footballer.

Questions marks: Speed. I think this showed up in his one AFL appearance. He would've learnt how much faster the AFL is played at compared to VFL and how you also need the endurance to keep it going for 4 quarters. It's only his first year and it'll take a couple of preseasons to get his bulk, speed and endurance up to the level required. We've seen with Foley that players can improve their pace. Much easier to do than teach an athlete footy smarts.

Its not Jack's fault his on field game time was limited against Essendon.
It was almost as if Terry wanted to select him just to digress from the same old same old questions of we had not won a game and he could reply look at all the players that have debuted in the last few years or this year. He had named him as an emergency from the Port game and Crows one and he expected us to lose those but he chose to bring him in against the Dons in a game we had a fair chance of winning to perhaps put a positive spin on another black night for us. Not that anyone knew how things would pan out anyway.
Jack is a very likely prospect and I am eagerly awaiting his continual development and more regular and consistent selection in our senior side.  :thumbsup

not to mean any offence but I think the expectations we have of Jack are a fraction of what other clubs have on their kids.

Take Gibbs and Murphy, some Carlton fans expect that these 2 players will pull this club out of a rut and into a GF.

It is a given that they are talented but I would call that an unrealistic expectation
