Agree FF. It doesn't make sense compared other more serious offenses which are treated lightly.

Yeah i didnt really see that incident until on the Couch tonight.

Eagleton should have got atleast two weeks for that.

Very dangerous and could easily break someone's leg.

No great surprises really. As soon as I saw Jake and West wrestling I thought "lads get your wallets ready"

When I saw the other incident on the replay I thought  nothing will happen. It is sadly how the system seems to work.

The [tribunal] panel clearly needs a reminder of the inherent danger in blokes throwing out a leg to trip an opponent if they can't stop them with their hands.

Tangles of legs are dangerous, as we have seen several times in the past couple of years, but the danger is compounded when the contact is deliberate.

Imagine both the outrage and impact on Richmond had Nathan Eagleton's attempted trip on Brett Deledio on Friday night caused serious damage. The long-term loss of the club's 2005 Rising Star might have prompted the Tigers to post the "Gone Fishing, back in 2011" sign at Punt Rd.

It was no surprise this week to receive the Western Bulldogs' media release stating: "Nathan Eagleton has accepted a reprimand and 45 points towards his future record for attempting to trip Brett Deledio."

Just as the Hawks had done in the Hodge case.

Funny thing is Eagleton's teammate Scott West copped a $900 fine for wrestling, reduced from $1200 on an early plea.

It's a long time since a bloke suffered a broken leg in a wrestle on a footy ground.
