Fractals

Anyone into them?
I luv them - here's the Wiks definition of 'em cos I can't explain them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractal

But they're awesome.  You can get free programs you can make them - or more expensive ones if you're right into them.

Program I'm using - free :-)   http://www.eclectasy.com/Fractal-Explorer/index.html

Here's a couple

I've just started doing them, so they're not like those ones, but they're fun and get you sucked in.  A couple I've done

Fractals are cool. You can zoom in and it keeps reproducing itself for infinity. The famous one is the Mandlebrot plot which is in that 3rd pic of Moi's.

They aren't just pretty pictures either. A real life example is a coastline like along the Great Ocean Road. Technically it's something with a dimension that lies between the natural numbers 1, 2, 3, etc. All part of Chaos theory (and I don't mean Maxwell Smart  ;D )

OK here's a real dumb blonde question (and I'm not even blonde!).  Do I have to download all the stuff or only just a part of it.  Please explain!

Not sure what you mean Julz.

You download the whole picture and if you could continually zoom in on section of the fractal (in the case below a Mandlebrot plot) then you keep getting back to what you started with.
