NAB AFL Under 18 National Championships - Victorian Squads Announced

The state’s most promising junior footballers have begun their preperation for the NAB AFL Under 18 National Championships later this year.

The championships play an important role in uncovering AFL players of the future and talented players from country and metropolitan Victoria can stake their claims for a place in the two teams during trial matches to be held at Victoria Park.

AFL talent scouts will be out in force to uncover the next Marc Murphy or Dale Thomas when the country’s best junior players showcase their skills at the National Championships.

Former Calder Cannons coach Robert Hyde will coach the Country team and Carlton Premiership player David Dickson is in charge of the Metro side.

It says Matt Kreuzer is injured. Anyone know what's wrong with him?

I'm still nervous about taking a ruckman with our first pick even though he's a good size 199cm and 91kg at 18 years of age. 

Trent Cotchin looks a good sized ready-made midfielder at 184cm and 81kg.

Shows the importance of us getting that priority pick. No point winning some meaningless games late in the year and stuffing up our draft options and future.

Nothing, just cautious of taking ruckman with early picks.

Also considering that there are excellent ruck options in the 15-30 range, it would be smarter IMO to take a class inside mid.

But I though Henderson was still carrying an injury, leg I believe

Same here bluey. I think the squads still need to be further reduced down to a final 25. Only 3 guys from the Western Jets despite them being 7-2.
