Tiges vs Dogs - can we make it 3 in a row?
« on: May 12, 2004, 12:53:13 AM »
After being written off for the season two weeks ago by all and sundry (including most Tiger fans), we face what was wishful thinking back then of being likely favourites :o this week against the Doggies. Not a label we in the past have handled well at all :-\. If Mike Sheahan ends up tipping us it's time to worry  :o  ;D .

So do you guys think we'll win?

Who'll shut down Scotty West and Brad Johnson? Newman did well on Nick Davis on Sunday so he might get the gig on Johnson. I'd reckon Razor will start on Rawlings.

God I hope so!

This will be the first game I've been to since round 2 (bloody work!)

If we can get over the Doggies, we may well be in a position to set ourselves up for a decent run. Like everyone, I don't want to finish the season in ninth position, with no good draft picks, and no real accomplishments. However, as we have all noticed in the last weeks, nothing beats that winning feeling. If we get on a roll, who knows where we may end up. Let's keep it going as long as we can. The last two weeks have been really enjoyable. I wanna feel like this more often.
For the love of God son, don't stick that up your ass!

When l walked out of the Telstra Dome after the Adelaide debacle,l was sure we'd not win another game for the year!
If we can win this week we are some remote chance of making 8th l suppose.
I reckon every one in the 8 bar Geelong will stay.
I still dont think we can regularly compete and beat the top 5 sides, particularly interstate.

The rest l just wasted.

The fact that we will be favourites will most likely lead to another loss.  The mental weakness of the players is a real concern as they need massive media pressure in order to put in the intensity required.  The players depend too much on the undergog tag to scratch and grind a win........they are not capable of being favourites and dictating terms their own way.

If the weather is good, the dogs will run us off our feet on a fast dry track...........they were quite impressive against the Bombers on Friday, whereas we were very average on the dry track against the hawks 2 weeks ago.  The extra 2 day break the dogs will have will give them a massive advantage also.

If the weather is fine - the dogs by 3-4 goals
If it is wet and windy - the tigers by 1-2 goals.
Does anyone have half an idea on anything?

The whole idea of being favourites makes me extremely nervous.

Agree with PRR though, we beat them in the pre-season. Their best match up on Richo copped 2 weeks so.... I think the Tigers by......

I think we have a good chance this week but the doggies seem to have improved since we beat them in the wizard cup. Even if we win and move into the 8 don't get too excited guys because we then face Port in Adelaide and WCE in Perth. Even though they are both down on form and injury, I will be surprised if we win.
