Summary

* Port game -  3 quarters of reasonable football but our second quarter was probably one of the worst for the year. Take out of the game more run and carry and confidence with the footy after half-time.

* Micky McGuane said there's been a theme all year of us controlling periods and quarters of games yet still getting beaten. Miller agreed and said as Terry mentioned we lack experience in the side at the moment. We have senior players down on form and players (top 6 in B&F and leadership group) who did well last year not performing to that level this year. We haven't been keeping up the pressure for a whole game.

* McGuane then asked if the players are at the moment fragile mentality? Miller said the players have been very good. He's been very happy with the attitude, of Sugar what he sets around the club and the noise and credit to Terry, assistant coaches and Sugar for keeping things still upbeat.

* McGaune said had Terry done anything different to change the mindset of the players? Greg said Terry focused straight away on the Port game.

*Changes this week? Jack kicked 5 goals, Edwards was BOG against Casey and Thursty made a successful comeback and played very well.  3-4 changes this week. Younger players like that coming in and perhaps replaceing other young players. We have 12 fit players over 21 at the moment and 11 are already in the side. Kingsley the only one not there because he's coming back from injury. The other senior players are out injured. We have what we have and we have rotated the younger guys if they perform. If they don't we give others a chance. So a few more in this week.

* Jack is very close. A couple of 5 goal games. Exciting, enthusiastic. Richmond fans will really enjoy him over the next 10-12 years. He loves paying the game. Got flamboyane. Takes strong marks, has eyes on the footy, good and gives away (assists) goals too. If not in this week then he'll be in the side within 2 weeks. Edwards and Thursfield very close too. Jack is very confident and wants to know what he has to do to improve (hence the knocking on the door). It'll take him very far.

* Kingsley - Had 2 Coburg ressies and one senior game. Rotated with Jack. Was on Hudgton. It'll take a few weeks for him to get back and get match fitness.

* Thursty - played 2.5 games Coburg ressies and one senior game. Good defender. Gets the hand in and can take a step back and use the ball well too. Up to match committee to decide if that's enough. He surprised us last time when he came into the side on O'Loughlin. A rare individul in that regard.

* Browny - He knows Terry has giving a prognosis then it doesn't happen but Brwny's feeling far better. Up tempo at training now and much closer now than when Miller last time spoke. Only a few weeks now.

* Simmo - won't be rushing him back with that ankle. A few weeks.

* 2007 draft - some great players. Probably hasn't got the depth of last year but you'll get a very good player early on.

The way Miller was talking it sounds as though Thursty is a serious chance to come in this week. I'm guessing probably for McGuane if it happens. Edwards should come in for Krak. Then there's the big question of who goes out for Jack. I hope it isn't Cleve  :-\. Maybe JON?

Got to fit Blingers in as well (for Hyde?). That would make the 4 changes Greg was talking about.

Who was a top 6 again in the B&F? I've forgotten. Sugar, Raines, Simmo, Richo, Petts off the top of my head?

Thanks WP and FF  :cheers

1. Johnson - good against Port but down on form especialy in the first month of the year when his kicking was seriously off. Broken hand as well.

2. Raines - struggled in the first couple of games. Much better in the past couple of weeks but is trying too hard to run and carry. Needs to be more aware and use his  peripherial vision. He's been caught a few times holding the ball playing on straight after taking a mark. Been carrying a leg injury as well.

3. Simmonds - ankle injury and carried it during the couple of games he did play. We brought him too soon.

4. Joel Bowden - Makes a howler once in a blue moon but easily the best of last year's top 6 given. He's expected to be the general of our defence as well as being our "quarterback".

5. Pettifer - Kicked 4 against the Blues but has struggled in and out of games since and hasn't been hard enough.

6. Tivendale - First 3 weeks were very good but fell away and dropped. He can get the footy but gives it up by foot far too often for what is expected from a senior player.

7. Richo - Tries his guts out but has been moved around this year to fill big holes.

8. Pat Bowden - injured and the games he did play were ordinary.

9. Polo - Dropped for discipline reasons. Not to forget that hair lol. Going by his games against Box Hill and Port Adelaide it appears he's got his head back into gear.

10. Tuck - trying hard but was going only just over 50% in effective kicks at one stage this year.

I wonder why we are last  :wallywink
