The Joys of AAMI Stadium
« on: May 21, 2007, 07:55:19 PM »
I just had to share this...

On Friday night I got abused walking back to my car after the game.

Some moron yelled at me that (wait for this) Adelaide had been ROBBED

Now I am pretty sure that Adeliade won the game but this fool continued to yell at me that they had been robbed because they should won by more than 9 points and the umpires had cost them percentage. :banghead

Followed me for about 20 odd metres ::) ::)

It is a very strange place indeed

I went Fri night for the first time, I didn't meet any morons like that, however it did feel like everyone was staring at me in my Richmond jumper, maybe they thought I was a Richmond player.....aah you can dream!

I found that the Adelaide fans were being quite sympathetic ('Richmond will be ok, need to give the kids time' and so on) esp during the first quarter, but when we bounced back, the sympathy dried up pretty quickly.

One area where Adelaide fans were wrong is that they thought that they 'let' Richmond back into the game. They didn't, we fought our way back into it. The reason that they started chipping it backwards, is that we had every player manned up. The boys were working extremely hard up the field to make sure the HBF had no options to kick to. That pressure is what created the opportunities for us to kick 5 in the second and to level the scores in the last.

I bet our Tassie members are enjoying this thread.  :D They'd know the quips by heart.

Adelaide is a nice place with lots of nice people (so is Tassie   8))
Just seems to have more than its fair share of nuff nuff xenophobes.

Is it true the no.1 song in Snowtown is "Roll out the barrel"?

Forgot about the hotel........

While checking into the hotel (picture it I am wearing a RFC team polo - latest Rbk version) and the bloke behind the check in counter says to me "so are you here for the footy". I said "yep".

He said.......... "so do you follow Adelaide"

WP said (while doing this  ::)) "er nope"

Check in bloke " so who is Adelaide playing tonight then?"
